July 1, 2018 - Happy Canada Day!

Sunday - Hot and Sunny

A good day.

This morning didn’t start out all that well.  F and his mother went to the onsen which was fine. I took care of some personal stuff and then had breakfast.  I was eating it when F came back.  He was in an odd mood.  I took a nap because it was so hot and I wasn’t feeling that great.  I woke up a couple of hours later.

F asked if I’d like to have lunch and then what I’d like to have. I told him bluntly that I didn’t want anything so he left the room.  He came back later. I thought he’d had lunch, but I’m not sure.  Anyway, I asked about lunch and we ended up going out.  We went to The Grand El Sun and had their lunch.  It’s small but well cooked.  Their wifi didn’t work very well though.  My meal was great, but F didn’t like his as much.  We stayed at the restaurant until 3ish and then went to S-Mall.

F’s watch strap had broken and he wanted to see if it could be repaired.  He took it to the shop where he bought the strap and they said they’d look at it.  F and I looked at the new store in the mall, a MiniPla.  It’s basically a small version of the Plaza store that I like to roam in Sendai. It is lovely, but I can’t see myself buying much there.

We went and bought expensive bread next. A new bread shop has opened in Tsuruoka and they sell bread made with Canadian wheat. F bought a full loaf which was really expensive.  We took it back to the house and he sliced some of it.  We had a little snack of some lovely bread. It was really nice, no butter or jam necessary.

We went upstairs after that and vegged for a bit.  Around 6 I suggested that we get a bento for K, but F had a different idea.  He was going to slice more bread.  I mentioned that I had a duck breast in the fridge…I could slice it and we could have sandwiches.  That’s what we ended up doing.  F got out some seaweed noodles from the fridge and we had those too.  It went down a fair treat.  It was also nice to have a no-fuss meal.  F washed the dishes, I dried them.  We also had a fancy frozen juice thing that I had picked up in Gyomu Supa the other day…they were Italian and made with real juice. I had blueberry and honey, F had blood orange and ginger and K had mango.  We were all pleased with them.

After dinner, F and I went out.  We went to the Internet Cafe for a while.  We decided to do things differently today.  We went to the massaging chairs for half of the time and then got a karaoke box for the rest of the time.  That was fun!  I did some crochet in the first part of the time and sang a lot in the second.  I took requests for Canadian songs on Facebook.  On one hand, it was crazy because the requesters couldn’t hear me, on the other, it was fun to have a wide selection.

When our time was up we left the Internet Cafe.  We went to the grocery store and I picked up a few things for my lunch tomorrow and Tuesday.  That done, we came back to the house where I did up the garbage for F to take out and then took a shower.

That was most of it.  F ran the air conditioner tonight for a bit and it made things nice.  I don’t know what the temperature will be in the morning when I get up though.

Come back later and see what I get up to next.  Until tomorrow….
