Saturday - Hot and Sunny, muggy

A goodish day.

Got up late this morning.  F was up before me, but I didn’t have to be up for a while so I just relaxed in bed. I need it sometimes you know!

I had breakfast and a cup of tea, then F and I went to see our doctor.  No big deal there.  I do have a bit of a gripe though.  They are calling me by my first name, rather than my family name.  A couple of months ago, I requested one of the nurses not call me by my first name, but today everyone did.  I’ve tried to get F to understand why I don’t want people there to call me by my given name, but he can’t seem to get it.  It’s really disrespectful.  We aren’t friends and I want to be treated with respect.

After the doctor and the pharmacy, we went for lunch.  I wanted somewhere nice but F said it was too expensive. I got a lecture about wanting to eat at expensive places.  Actually, I want to eat at good restaurants and that’s it.  If they are cheap too, so much the better.  The place I wanted to go to have entrees around 1000 yen and everything is included, plus we have a discount card and get 5% off.  And free wifi.  And good food. Did I mention?  Yes, it’s a little small, but it is good.

Where did I have lunch?  Some crappy Japanese place that F likes.  The portions were huge. I couldn’t finish mine and it wasn’t very good either. It also wasn’t that cheap.  No coffee or tea.

The next thing we did got him out of the doghouse though.  He took me to Doutor without me asking!  We had an icy drink each and used the wifi.  It was nice.

Afterwards, we started driving towards the house I thought, but detoured.  We went into the Gyomu Supa.  That was a surprise.  I asked F if we were there for ice cream and he said we were.  We got a box for the freezer and then I suggested getting one each for all of us.  We got three individual kinds and took them back to the house with us.

We sat in the living room and had our ice cream with K.  She’s been trying to keep cool.  We watched a little TV with her and then I had to leave. I can’t tolerate much J-TV.

Around 5 F and I went out and got bentos for dinner.  We just went to the local grocery store which was fine.  We came back with them and ate with K in the living room.  I finally found out that the reason her air conditioner wasn’t on was the remote’s batteries had died.  I happened to have some of the same batteries upstairs, so I got them and the next thing it was lovely and cool in the living room.

I washed the bento boxes and the glasses after the meal. F had originally planned to take me to the movie at 5:55 but we realized we were running too late to do that. Instead, we came upstairs for a while and relaxed until the late show.

We left the house around 8 pm and drove to the cinema.  It was rather crowded tonight and there were more than a couple of foreigners out for a change. The reason?  Solo: A Star Wars Story was playing.  We went to see it of course and enjoyed it. However, I don’t think it was a great movie, certainly not one I’ll remember forever and ever.  It should have been better, after all, this was Han Solo, one of the most iconic Star Wars characters ever.

After the movie we just came back to the house.  F has been sleeping for a while and I’m still up working on this and that.

I have no idea what we’ll get up to tomorrow, if you want to know, please come back and find out.  Until tomorrow….
