Saturday - Sunny and warmish

A good day!

We all slept in today. F was going to take his mother to the onsen, but when he went downstairs to see her, found she wasn’t up yet.  I was up before F which is quite surprising. I think I got up around 10, F was later.

F made his mother something to eat, noodles of course and I didn’t have anything. I was going to but never got around to it.  I asked if we could go to Kitchen Futaba, a restaurant just up the road. Finally, F said yes. Whew.

We had a very nice meal there. We both had the quiche plate and really enjoyed it. They weren’t terribly busy today, so it was nice to be able to relax and eat. After we left I said to F that I like going to non-chain restaurants like Futaba because I feel like our money is more important to them. They are a small place with great food and I want to support local businesses rather than big companies all the time.  He actually agreed with me!

We went to Musashi, the big hardware store afterwards and did a little shopping.  I got started on some Christmas shopping for the men in my life and also picked up some household necessities. I can get them in larger quantities there.

When we left I told F that I could murder a drink so he suggested going to the Komeda Coffee again. I don’t mind it, but along the way we were going to pass Cafe Studio Cinq, so suggested we go there. It has a lovely view of the street, good wifi and is usually not very busy, unlike Komeda. We went and spent a little too long there. We were both engrossed in our phones.

When we left, F started asking about dinner. I suggested that since it was a holiday, we might be able to get a tray of yummy food at the grocery store, or just regular bentos if not. When we got to Mina, there weren’t any party trays, so we got three bentos and a pizza that was marked down.

We brought them back to the house and heated everything up and had a nice meal with K. I’m not sure if she was a big fan of the pizza, but she gamely tried it.  We had some soup with our meal too.

F washed the dishes tonight, I dried them, and then we went upstairs for a bit. F vegged and I spent time on my computer.

Around 7:40 we left for the local cinema and went to see Venom. I’d heard the reviews weren’t great, but to be honest, we both enjoyed it! Tom Hardy is always good, and so is Michelle Williams.  I wouldn’t send everyone to go and see it, but we liked it.

After the film, we just came back to the house and relaxed. I watched some TV, F watched his phone. F is now sleeping and I should get off my computer and get some sleep soon.

Come back later if you like and see what we get up to on Sunday. Until tomorrow….
