Saturday - Cool and cloudy
A blah day.
I woke up fairly early and got up around 9 this morning. I got dressed, made F and me some tea and soon after we left for the doctor’s office. Everything was fine today and we didn’t have the huge wait that we normally do. We didn’t finish until after 12 though.
It was lunchtime and F wanted to know what we should do. I suggested going to Naa, the Farmer’s Restaurant. It was a good idea. We went there with K, so she got a little outing too. We all had a good meal. I had cod and shabu-shabu, F had sawara and some other kind of pork and his mother had mackerel. After we had our lunch, I suggested stopping off at a Farmer’s Market to look at the veggies. We rarely take K to the grocery store now as she doesn’t do well with walking. She had a great old time and got herself something for dinner, some vegetables, and apples. She even bought some flowers for the house later too.
We brought her back to the house and then F and I went out. I needed a box for something I’m mailing and F wanted to get his mother a bento, so we did that and then dropped stuff off at the house.
We went to Starbucks and spent a bit of time there. I had an English Breakfast Tea Latte with Soy Milk, F had a latte. We were both pleased with them. After a bit, we each got a Starbucks Sandwich and had that too.
We drove down to the Kamo Aquarium and went in. We had a little bit of hanging around time but then went in to see the concert. As “Passport Holders” we got seated first, and it’s a good thing too as there were people standing for the concert.
How was the concert? Honestly, I didn’t like it! I think it was a combo of me being tired, the music too loud, and it wasn’t really relaxing. The last two concerts we went to there were much better. I was quite happy when it was over. F did enjoy it though, so that was good.
We drove back into Tsuruoka to go and see the movie at 8:50. It was about 7:40, so between the distance and the lateness, we got to Tsuruoka just before 8 pm. I suggested going to a new place that I’d read about on Facebook, a burger restaurant. We found the place, but it didn’t have parking. We went back to a parking lot and then walked to the restaurant…and it was closed! It had closed in the 10 minutes or so since we drove by. There were two other restaurants nearby, so we went to the furthest one. And, of course, we didn’t even get our food until 8:30. Unless we gobbled down our food, we wouldn’t make the showing. So, of course, we didn’t go to the movie. I was quite upset. And, to make matters worse, F wouldn’t order any more food. We just had pasta. Nothing else.
Then, after our meal, we walked back to the car and just came back to the house. I was quite angry, to be honest. I spend all day every day here during the week and I have to do the same on the weekend? Yuck.
I spent the rest of the evening watching my TV programmes and trying to make labels on my printer. It was rather difficult since it is all in Japanese and it has stopped working for me. Sigh.
That’s it for me. I’m grumpy and I know it. I’ll have to try and behave myself tomorrow or I’ll have all sorts of not fun. Come back if you want and see how Sunday goes. Until tomorrow….
