Saturday - Clear but cold

We had a lovely lie-in this morning and then F got up and took his mother off to the onsen. I got up a few minutes later, did a few things for myself and then worked on getting ready for our trip.

F didn’t come back to the house until almost 2 pm. I was quite annoyed. I had hoped to have a nice lunch, but we couldn’t now.  We came up with some options and I even said I’d have lunch at the Gyudon shop. That is where we ended up. Neither F nor I had gyudon! I had curry and F had a natto meal. Bleck but it was what he wanted.

We went to Hard Off and had a long look around. F started to hustle me out of the store when I started to look at movies so I was a bit annoyed. He wanted to go and buy his mother some dinner and then go to the 5:40 show of the movie. I thought we were going to the late show so I didn’t think about rushing. 

He got his way.  We had quite an argument about it, but in the end, I didn’t really care that much.

We went to the grocery store and he picked up some food for his mother. I suggested to him that he only get a little and give her some of the leftovers in the fridge, but he didn’t do that. I will be so annoyed if my lovely quiche goes to waste.

We went to see Mary Poppins Returns. F bought the tickets, I got the drinks and popcorn. The guy at the counter didn’t understand my order. He kept thinking I asked for a regular drink when I asked for two larges! The movie was good and I enjoyed it but didn’t love it. I think I could if I see it again. Emily Blunt was great though.

After the movie we had dinner. F surprised me by going along with my sort of expensive idea. We went to Jour Faste, a restaurant near the station. We both had the fish course, which was great. Our soup was red turnip soup, a local special vegetable. The fish was great, and we had a choice of dessert. I had chocolate cake, F had a peach tart. We were both pleased with our dinner.

We came back to the house and got ready for tomorrow’s trip. I’m still packing things and I have a mound of stuff outside my suitcase to put in my suitcase! I do have to go though, so I’ll catch you when I get back. I may blog on Wednesday, or I may wait a night or two. Come back later and see!
