Saturday - Sunny and warm
Today was a pretty good day. F got up early to go to the doctor’s office, I got up a bit later, but still at a reasonable Saturday hour. I spent a bit of time on my computer and enjoyed myself.
F came back and we talked about lunch. I suggested a Japanese place that we used to go back in our apartment days. His mother was going to come too so she would be able to eat the food there. We went and had a nice meal. It was a bit slow, especially at first, but the food was good. We all three had their sushi set lunch. It came with Chawanmushi and miso soup and coffee too.
After lunch, the three of us visited a garden centre. I’ve never been to one here before. It was rather nice. I saw a lot of plants that I’d love, but I have no garden so I’m not going to ask for anything.
We brought K back to the house and then F and I went out again. This time we went to the Chido Museum and in a surprise turn for the books, we got ME a membership. Since F doesn’t visit it for work at his new office, it makes sense that I can visit and take someone in. If I’m with F, of course, I’ll take him in, but if I’m with another person, I can take them in for free I believe. I should check that!
We saw a display of Yosegi furniture and boxes at the museum. I really liked it a lot. I like looking at things that people actually used. Wikipedia has a little blurb about it if you don’t know about it. It is here.
After the Yosegi, we checked out the Doll’s House exhibit and thought it was cool too. We did see it last year though.
We had a lovely cup of coffee and a cake in Unasaka-han and even better a nice chat. You see, today F’s phone didn’t charge properly overnight, so he had no power for most of the day. It was wonderful! I know it sounds bad of me to say this, but it was so nice to have his attention. No earphones, no MeWe, no nothing! I didn’t use my phone much either. I did let him take pictures of our food/drinks with my phone and I did look up a few things, but mostly it wasn’t used.
We came back to the house a bit before 6 pm and relaxed for a few minutes. We finally roused ourselves about dinner and picked a K friendly place, but she decided she didn’t need to eat tonight!
The two of us ended up at Youme-Shokudo and had a nice meal of chicken steak. I had my one bowl of rice and some miso soup, F had a ton of rice with his. Still, the food was good and we enjoyed ourselves there too.
On the way back, I suggested dessert (yes, again!) so we went to Gusto for a bit of drink bar and chocolate Fondant cake. It was nice, but not great. We made use of the wifi and then came back to the house.
At the house, the two of us came upstairs and watched a couple of episodes of Castle Rock. I’m glad as I’ve been despairing how to get it off the DVR! I did some knitting during the show, but still haven’t finished that blooming scarf!
I took a shower tonight and F went to bed. He had a fairly good day, but I worry that tomorrow he might get tired again. I have plans for tomorrow evening which I am really looking forward to. I’ll hopefully let you know about it tomorrow night!
Come back later and see what we get up to on Sunday. Until tomorrow….
