Sunday - Sunny and warm
I woke up early this morning without my alarm, and then went back to sleep. When I woke up next I was alone in the house. F had taken K off to the onsen. I took care of a personal chore and then spent some quality time on my computer.
F came back and made his mother lunch. Of course, I didn’t know about it because he didn’t say. I thought we were going to take her out for lunch today because it’s Mother’s Day and because I would be away in the evening. F had forgotten. Sigh.
The two of us went out for lunch and after a few ideas ended up going to The Grand El Son for food. Unfortunately, F’s phone was working again and he didn’t talk much to me. Sigh. I had chicken today and F had the fish plate. They were both good. On the way out of the restaurant I bought a box of Pukka tea, well, strictly speaking, F bought it for me. Yay him.
I suggested going to Hard Off for a look around, but F wanted to go to Musashi, the hardware store. We ended up there. F picked up some plants for Mother’s Day for K and we got a few other things like her favourite drink and some garbage bags for the house. When we finished we came back to the house.
F gave his mother her stuff I think and then did some stuff outside. Apparently, he even planted my rhubarb seeds for me. I’m excited to see if they grow!
Around 6 pm F drove me to my friend’s apartment. He took a way I didn’t recognize but I thought he knew where I was going. We were near the Machi-Kinema when he started asking if it was behind the 7-11 there. Well, no! It was in the other direction. I asked him if he knew where he was going and he didn’t. He’d only been there about 5 times, so I think he really did. He changed the car’s direction and we got there just in time! He dropped me off and I went inside.
I spent some time tonight with a friend and her friends at their iftar celebration. Iftar is the meal eaten by Muslims after sunset during Ramadan. I knew or had met many of the people before, but there were quite a few that I hadn’t met. We had a lovely meal of things like biryani with chicken, spring rolls, fritters with potato and onion and some curry too. Everything was very good and it was lovely to try lots of different flavours and textures. People were from all over the world, and it was lovely to see everyone getting on.
I left just a bit before the second prayer of the evening. I could have stayed of course, but I knew that F was waiting for me and he has an early morning tomorrow.
I called him to pick me up and we went shopping at the grocery store. I need a few things for lunch and dinner tomorrow.
We came back to the house, unpacked the groceries and then came upstairs. I watched The Mentalist and F went to bed. He’s actually sleeping right now, which is great.
Not sure what I’ll get up to tomorrow. I need to work on F’s pants but I’d love to send a Postcrossing too. We’ll see what I have time for. Come back later and check out my Monday. Until tomorrow….
