Wednesday - Rainy and windy, cold

I woke up a little late this morning. I was convinced that F was still in the room, but he wasn’t, of course. I watched the news from the bed and then some of Bake Off before I got up. I even saw K this morning and said good morning.

I had a quiet day. I spent a lot of the day in quietness. It is the anniversary of the Tohoku Earthquake that hit us 9 years ago now. It seems unbelievable that so much time has passed. I’ve experienced a few more big earthquakes since then, but that one has always stood out. It wasn’t as powerful for us since we are across the country from the epicentre, but it had a huge effect on my life.

I was supposed to cook dinner tonight and did. I went downstairs a little bit early tonight so when F texted me (he thought I might be working) I was already in the kitchen getting things ready. Tonight I made a pasta dish using a bottle of oil sauce. It was really good!  I had some sausages that I wanted to use up, so I substituted them for some bacon that the recipe suggested. I added in some spinach and mushrooms, stir-fried them all and then added in the pasta. It was great and all of the pasta disappeared!  It was good. We had some salad with that and that was also good.

F and I did the dishes and then we headed out. I wanted and needed some groceries for tomorrow, so we went out. We went for coffee first, the first time in ages, to Komeda and were there for a while before shopping.

We picked up some food for dinner tomorrow night and then came back to the house. F took a shower, I watched some TV and we just relaxed a bit. After the season one finale of New Amsterdam (oh boy!), I found The Cell with Jennifer Lopez on the movie channel and watched the end of that. I had seen it years ago in Sapporo and the visuals were still amazing, and somewhat disturbing.

That’s about it for my day really.

I’m cooking again tomorrow night, but some parts of the menu are subject to change!  Come back later if you like and see how things go. Until tomorrow….
