Sunny but a little cool

I had an okay morning. K was up and quite genki this morning. I had decided I’d make porridge for myself for breakfast, but when I went into the kitchen she was there. I left, and let her have the kitchen but even ten minutes later, she was still there. She was just puttering, not really cooking I think.

I did a couple of loads of laundry today and hung them to dry. I decided that I’d write a few postcards for Postcrossing, and did three. I got them all ready to go to the postbox and I scanned the latest of my incoming cards too. Yay me.

I had a pretty good afternoon today. I had lunch at a reasonable time and watched a few things off the DVR. It’s been an odd week and I haven’t been able to watch much recently.  

Around 5:45 pm a friend popped in to pick up the textbooks that I had needed. She’ll need them tomorrow. We had a chat at her car and then after a bit F came back!  The cars drove past each other. It was good timing.

I was behind on my dinner prep, so I went back to the house and got busy. I heated up the kettle for the soup, I washed and then sautéed the spinach, I cooked the french fries in the toaster oven and I cooked the hamburgers. F did help a bit, he mixed up the salad with the dressing for me. He can be very helpful, but a lot of the time he just stands around in my way. Sigh. He’s so touchy sometimes. If I criticize what he is doing or how he is doing it, he’ll throw a tantrum and leave the room.  Tonight he was okay though. Whew.

Dinner didn’t take too long to come together, and when it did, it was pretty good. I enjoyed it, I think we all did. 

After doing dishes, F, K and I headed out to the onsen. I found a chair and sat and did some crochet while listening to some podcasts, and relaxed a bit. I got to chill out quite a bit so that was nice. When F and K finished and came out of the bath, we came back to the house. I had asked F if we could go shopping for dinner food for tomorrow, so the two of us headed out again.

We went to the grocery store and picked up a few things for dinner tomorrow. It’s going to be a hodgepodge meal, but I think it’ll work. I’ve been warming up a couple of avocados to see if they’ll ripen, so if all goes well we’ll have guacamole tomorrow night, with some shrimp ajillo and a few other things. 

I watched a very little bit of TV tonight and then decided to turn off the TV. I’d like to get to bed a little earlier than last night. Fingers crossed I can.
