Monday - Windy and rainy

I had a quiet day today. Quiet, but actually busy for a change. I did quite a bit of prep for my upcoming lessons. However, I did get some bad news.  Some of the lessons that I was going to teach will most likely be cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus. Boo! Well, honestly, it probably is a good idea for people to stay home, but I was looking forward to those classes.

I did prep most of the day and also cooked dinner. Tonight I did Bangers and Mash again. I peeled two pounds of potatoes, I also prepped the last of the Costco radishes and some of the Brussels Sprouts. They aren’t hard to do, just a bit time-consuming. 

When F came back to the house, I was getting ready to boil the potatoes. I did that and while they were in the pan, my friend came over to do a textbook exchange.  We chatted for a while in the genkan, and K kept coming out to see what was going on. I’m not sure what she thought was happening!  I don’t think F told her that I’m working on Wednesday, and other days this month!

Dinner was good, for the most part.  The potatoes were done early, so by the time the gravy finished, they were cold, and the gravy got cold because no one really knows how to help me or get things on the table properly. I did get F to help put a few things on the table but he doesn’t ever seem to know how to do it. 

After dinner, we did the dishes. I put the leftovers away and then helped F by drying the dishes. As usual, he did his weird system of saving one of the glasses to the end. Tonight there was a casualty though, when I emptied the basin at the end of the night, that last glass was sitting broken in the basin. Darn!  They are extremely cheap glasses (100 yen shop) but they are nice, so it is a bit sad. 

Came up to the room and F didn’t even want to go out to get food for tomorrow. Sigh. I’ll have to make something out of nothing again. Or try to. 

He went to bed and almost immediately fell asleep. I was glad for him as he didn’t sleep well on Sunday. I spent some time at my computer and also watched a few things off the DVR or live off the TV.  

That’s about it for me. Tomorrow I have to do more preparation for my classes on Friday and on Monday, and hopefully not go too stir crazy here!
