Monday - Sunny and warm

I got up a few minutes late this morning, but I have an excuse!  I kept waking up last night. I woke up first at 5:30 am and my nose was freezing!  It just felt so cold.  I was worried about it, but after a trip downstairs managed to fall back asleep.

F was off work this morning, so he didn’t get up early. No worries.  He went off to do his personal banking stuff around 9:30 or so. I used that time to check over my lessons and make sure I hadn’t missed anything.

When he came back he spent most of the morning in or on the bed. He made his mother’s brunch at one point, that was nice of him. I’m not sure if she likes having udon as much as he does though. Maybe. He does make it an awful lot for her though.

I had a terrible wave of tiredness sweep over me, so I took a nap for a bit. I couldn’t sleep for long, but it was enough to help. I got up and then had my lunch.

Around 1:45 I got dressed and masked up. I checked my hair and everything then went downstairs to the door. Then I realized I’d forgotten my shoes.  I ran upstairs to get them. They are good expensive shoes and I don’t leave them in the genkan between teaching gigs because they are good and expensive!

The taxi was waiting for me when I opened the door so off I went. I can’t say much about my lessons today, but they seemed to go quite well and I enjoyed teaching them. I hope the students enjoyed them too!

I was picked up by a taxi after the classes and driven back to the house. The twilight was lovely. It was just beautiful outside. The moon was huge and bright…it would have been a lovely night for a walk.

When I got back to the house there were no lights on and F was cooking dinner for his mother and himself. That surprised me a bit, but no matter. I went upstairs to complete my paperwork and F had dinner with his mother.

I didn’t know if F wanted to go out or not, but he said it was okay. He gave me a budget for the meal and I chose one of the keiten sushi places. I didn’t want to go to the best place as I’m afraid I wanted some of the “extra” dishes that the best place doesn’t offer. F and I went to Kula sushi, got in right away, and had a bit of fun. He didn’t spend his time on his phone so we could actually talk and enjoy being together. Yay.

After the meal, we went to the grocery store and I picked up a few things for our next dinner. I have some sausages in the fridge, so I thought I’d make a pasta dish. I got a pasta sauce base and some veggies to go with it. I’m hoping it’ll be good.

We got some gas for the car and then came back to the house. It was a nice evening out. K was still up when we came back, it surprised me as she is usually in bed before 8:30!

F and I came upstairs and had a quiet evening. I got a message from a friend asking if I’d like to meet up tomorrow and I said yes. It’s been a long time since we’ve had time for a good natter and we both need it I think! I’m not sure if I’ll come back to Tsuruoka with her or if I’ll take the bus or wait for dear F to pick me up after work. I’ll figure that out later.

So that was my day. It was pretty great if I’m honest. I don’t often say that these days, but it was. Come back later if you like and find out how my day went. Until tomorrow….
