Monday - Rainy and cloudy
I woke up early this morning when F got up for work. He turned on the light in the room and even though I was wearing an eye mask I could see light. He left soon after and I slept a little longer.
I got up at my usual time, watched the news (bad as usual) and had a little snooze. When I did get up, I had the sneaking suspicion that my MIL was outside the door sweeping. I have no idea if she really was there, I think I was hearing the wind. However, I was up by then so no matter. I sorted out some laundry and did a load. First load in over a week. Sigh.
I had a quiet day today. I watched some stuff off the DVR and went on a search for films that I want to write about. I have a big list. I’ll whittle it down to something manageable and I think it’ll work out. I don’t have a lot of time to write now though.
During the afternoon, I rewatched Carrie Pilby and enjoyed it. I stopped it for the afternoon news. I went downstairs around 5 pm to get started on dinner. I took my dishes downstairs too to wash them. F called when I’d started preparing, I reminded him I needed some French bread.
Tonight I made a cheese fondue stew. It was rather neat. I made the stew, but the sauce was very cheesy and quite saucy. I served it as the packet suggested, with steamed veggies on the side. We had some broccoli, new potatoes and carrots, along with the French bread. I’ve decided that I’ll go the casserole route with the leftovers, but not until Wednesday night! F and I nearly had an argument about how to serve the stew. He wanted me to put it in the stew, but I pointed out that the box didn’t say that!
F washed the dishes, I dried them and put them away. We got them done fairly quickly. After he was done, I cleaned the stove and emptied the scraps basket in the sink. I also got the plastic garbage ready to go out tomorrow.
I came upstairs and a little while later, so did F. He went to bed right away. He had his computer but fell asleep. I watched a bit of TV and a couple of movies. Tonight I watched Detective Pikachu and found it was okay, not terrible. Well, I wouldn’t recommend it highly, but I like Ryan Reynolds, so I got a chuckle or two out of it…but did snooze a little in the middle. Then, I put on Ophelia and quite enjoyed that. I hadn’t heard much about the film but the cast was good and so were the costumes and actors, so I went with it. I liked it because Ophelia wasn’t a wet blanket in this one. Well, she got wet a lot but wasn’t a pushover like in the original play of Hamlet.
F got up around 1 pm for a bit and then went back to bed. He’s not doing well, but it seems to be a seasonal thing with him.
Tomorrow I have to work on my column a little harder and actually write some of it. I also want to do more laundry! Come back later and see if I do any of it! Until tomorrow….
