Friday - Cold and cloudy, rainy

I woke up nice and early with my alarm this morning, but promptly fell asleep on the news. I guess I am not sleeping enough.  

I did do a load of laundry today and I also worked more on my column. I wrote about another movie and I’m going to remove the one I wrote about yesterday. I will check the intro and put on the outro when I have time on Monday and then I’ll be able to send it to the editor. I think it’s okay. 

In the afternoon I watched Music and Lyrics, the movie with Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant as songwriters. It wasn’t bad, except she’s quite a bit younger than him. I had lunch and didn’t see K for most of the day.

I got a few texts from F today so I knew that he’d be late again. I told him I’d start cooking around 6 pm and that basically was what I did. Tonight I just did pasta and a one-dish per person meal it was. Mind you, the pasta had some shimegi mushrooms and some canned chicken breast in it, so it was quite nice. I heated up the chicken too so it wasn’t cold in the pasta.  Anyway, K enjoyed her pasta, and even gave a try at eating the pasta with a fork and spoon before she went back to her chopsticks!

Halfway through her meal, she asked if there was enough for F, but I hadn’t made any for him. I’m of the opinion that pasta is quick enough to cook that he could have it freshly made when he came.

I washed most of the dishes after we ate and then came back upstairs. I stayed up here until F called to say that he was finished work and was on his way back. 

I went back downstairs, told K that he was on his way, and started putting F’s dinner together. He had his dinner, I cleaned the pasta pot and then went upstairs. 

F came upstairs soon afterwards and went to bed. I stayed up and watched Younger and then rewatched The Boondock Saints. I erased it off the DVR after that. It was not a good movie, but it did have a certain something!

And that’s me. I was hoping to get to bed before now, but it wasn’t to be. Tomorrow morning, F says he’s going to take his mother to the nearby onsen. I hope he finishes early as we have a doctor’s appointment in the morning and it is earlier than usual. I asked F to call to see if we could cancel it. He did, but the doctor still wants to see us. I’m not too pleased, to be honest. 

I hope that we have a decent weekend. I’m looking forward to getting out of the house. The weather hasn’t been great so I haven’t left the house in days. Sigh.
