Friday - Sunny and warmish

What a strange day! I was so angry at my husband last night. He’d said something about taking today off work and I asked him not to. I needed to plan my classes today and it is so hard to do that when he’s around.

This morning, he was still in bed when I got up. He said that he’d already called in sick to work. I wasn’t too happy, but if the man is sick, the man should stay home, right?

I did my usual sleeping and watching the news, I finally dragged myself out of bed later than usual. I went downstairs, grabbed my breakfast and came upstairs to eat and drink some tea.

Around 11:30, F asked me if I wanted to go out for lunch and I said no. I had just had breakfast and I was going to be teaching until 9pm so didn’t want to have lunch earlier than usual! He collapsed back into bed, so it was a good thing that I didn’t go out with him.

While he snoozed, I worked on my lesson plans and I got my two classes planned out. I think they looked okay, except I was a bit nervous about technical stuff like using the CD player.

I had my lunch a bit after 2 pm. I finished many of the leftovers from last night and had a bit of bread too. Basically, it was nice. Earlier on, I had discovered that the X-Men film I missed last year when the earthquake we had closed the cinema was on. I watched X-Men: Dark Phoenix. It was okay. It had a definite dearth of Wolverine though! I did like seeing the younger mutants.

Finally, I watched the news at 4 pm and then started to get ready at 5 pm. By 5:40, I was dressed and at the door, waiting for the taxi. F was up too. He was working on the doorbell. He’d just got a new mechanism for it and was trying to make it work. He’s figured out that the bell also has a loose connection, so things are really weird with it. Anyway, the taxi that I was expecting to be five minutes early never showed up. It didn’t show up on time. It didn’t show up five minutes late. I called my company to see what was up and I told my supervisor the problem. I asked F to drive me and he did. I got there in time, but a little later than I wanted to. I had wanted to check out the cd player before class, but I already had two students in the classroom.  And, I found out that my second class wasn’t happening. Sigh.

My class went well. We had a nice discussion and even enough time for a game afterwards. I think the students enjoyed that.

I tidied up the classroom and bagged up the textbooks that I had for the next teacher. I called the company again to let them know that the last class wasn’t happening and then I went down to the lobby. I had tried to call F, but there was no response. I texted him too.

He had told me that he’d come to the place at 8:40, so around then I went outside looking for him. He wasn’t there. He hadn’t even left the house yet. He hadn’t seen my messages. That just gave me horrid flashbacks to my own school and how often he pulled that crap on me. The phone, which seems surgically attached to his hand, and he didn’t notice my messages. What the hell?

Anyway, he picked me up and we went to a restaurant for dinner. I was hungry by then. He’d eaten something but had another meal. I really don’t know where he puts all that food. He could have had something light or something small, but he went for a full Japanese meal. He didn’t complain too much about it for a change. Yay.

We came back to the house straight after our meal and he went to bed. I watched a little bit of TV and then something off the DVR. There’s a bunch of new stuff previewing this weekend so I’ve set up the DVR to record it…and Project Runway! Woot. It’s coming back and I am so ready for it. This will be our first time seeing the show without Tim and Heidi. I hope it’s okay.

That’s really it. It is very late now. I’ve spent a bit of time watching videos of Rocky Horror Picture Show and now top 40 hits in Canada so it’s been a bit fun. I can’t find my good earphones though so I think I need to stop soon.

That’s it for me. Come back later if you like and see what happens. Until tomorrow….
