Sunday - Hot and sunny
I basically refused to get up this morning! I didn’t want to get up since we had no plans and there was nowhere to go anyway.
Between 12:30 to 1 pm I got up finally and talked to F about lunch. I suggested getting take-out from our usual Sunday place and that is what we did. I told F what I wanted and he ordered 3 of them! We had Tonkatsu and when we had it, it was delish. We had lunch with K in the living room and enjoyed our meals. The others said it was big, but I thought it was just fine.
Went upstairs after I did the dishes and vegged for a while. A friend posted on one of our mutual Facebook groups about a spur of the moment online meetup and I said I’d join. So, I did.
We were online for an hour or more, but most of the time the other people talked about using the system for teaching their classes. I was quite disappointed in a way as I don’t teach anymore and was hoping to just have some fun chat. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t as much fun as I hoped.
At the end of the meeting, it was around 5 pm and I was getting worried about dinner. We decided to go to the grocery store and pick up bentos if they had them and have those. F wasn’t too hungry he said.
We drove off to the grocery store, all masked up of course. I found a nice looking bento for me and then F bought two others of the same type. I also picked up a bread looking thing with cappuccino flavouring inside for our dessert.
We also stopped at a drugstore looking for masks and didn’t find any. In fact, we didn’t buy anything there. Came back to the house and as usual, F disappeared into the washroom, leaving me to heat up the bentos and set the table. I did everything, I cut up the cappuccino bread, warmed up the bentos, got out the glasses and put the meal on the table. I had to yell to F to come and wake up his mother.
First of all his mother said that she wasn’t hungry and could she keep her bento for tomorrow. Okay fine. Then, she wanted some dessert. She took a couple of pieces of the bread. Then a couple more. Then she had a few bites of her bento. Then she ate the whole damn thing! I told F later that she was like a 5-year-old or something. She wanted dessert first and she got it.
As usual, I got “gifted” with clearing the table and washing up everything. I’m not sure what I have done in another life to constantly be the washing up person, but I’m not terribly happy about it. I didn’t put myself through college to wash dishes.
We had a fairly quiet evening. I rewatched Once Upon A Time…in Hollywood and enjoyed it a lot, then took a shower. I watched an episode of another show, but accidentally skipped one…crap!
And that’s about it. F and I have been late-night snacking and should go to bed soon. F doesn’t have to work tomorrow, he was on call but has been told that he doesn’t need to show up after all. Yay for that.
Come back later if you like and see how Monday goes. Until tomorrow….
