Wednesday - Rainy and cold

My alarm woke me up this morning and I was surprised that I hadn’t heard F leave at all. I was also surprised that it was morning!

I had a pretty quiet morning. I washed the new mattress cover we bought and hung it up in our room. I took a snooze early on, but got dressed first so I didn’t worry that I might be called downstairs in my pyjamas!

When I went downstairs to get my lunch, I started by doing a little dinner prep. I made some tea for later and I cut up and cooked part of a kabocha! I was planning on making kabocha salad later on.

While I ate lunch I watched Fleabag, the second season. I think I liked it more than the first season. It was a lot more hopeful. She was a much better person in this. 

I watched the news and then went downstairs and started on dinner. I knew that F would be late tonight and I was trying a new recipe for the first time, so wanted the extra time.  I made up the kabocha salad and put the sauce ingredients together. F called a bit later to confirm that he would be late, so I went ahead and started cooking. Not too much later I had dinner ready. K was surprised that F was late, but I left a plate with food for him in the kitchen.  Dinner was nice. We had honey-garlic chicken, gobo rice, salad, kabocha salad and leftover marinated mushrooms from Monday. It was great!  F called while K and I were eating to say he was on his way, and he was back before I cleared the table. He liked dinner but was quite tired and went upstairs right after eating.

I did the dishes, listened to a couple of podcasts, and basically got things done. After I finished dishes, I did up the garbage for F to take out tomorrow. Earlier in the day, I had looked for flour and found a bunch of outdated bags so I tossed them. They weren’t just a month or two outdated, it was much longer than that, AND they were opened so out they went. The garbage bag was quite heavy tonight!

I went upstairs and poor F was on his bed. He was tired. I put on the TV and watched some telly. It was a big night for me tonight. I watched Project Runway, Killing Eve and then Grey’s Anatomy. I enjoyed them all today. I worked on F’s mask today. I unpicked the side that I’d sewed on wrong, corrected the hem that I’d put on the wrong side and then sewed it on wrong again. Gah! At least there was one tiny improvement!

F took a shower and then went to bed. He’s really tired, I can hear him snoring (shhh, don’t tell him I told you!) and he has to go back to work tomorrow again. 

I’m not sure what I’m going to get up to tomorrow. I hope to get started on my column, or I might do some more mask making! This stupid mask of F’s is just taking so long. I also have to do a bit of laundry I think.
