Saturday - Warm and sunny
I woke up this morning around 9 and actually got myself up too. I got dressed fairly early and I even ate breakfast and then washed my bowl out afterwards. Go me!
F and I went over to the doctor’s and spent about 30 minutes waiting to see the doc. I didn’t mind as I was reading a book. We were done around 12:15 or so and then decided to go for lunch. Since F had no opinion about where to go, I suggested going to Hyakkenbori. He grudgingly agreed. When we got there we waited a couple of minutes before we were seated. Today it was busy! When we looked at the menu I felt a bit worried as the prices had increased and the things that F liked were off the menu. Sigh. He ended up having sashimi on rice bowl but complained about it. I had pork stew and I liked mine a lot. We had drink bar too which was nice.
After lunch, we came back to the house and ended up taking a nap, both of us! F wasn’t feeling great, so I didn’t want to make him traipse around malls with me!
For dinner tonight we got bentos. F suggested the good bento shop, so we looked at the website and then ordered them. F and I picked them up and brought them back. I supplemented the dinner with a bit of the bean salad and some beets. It was nice.
As per usual, I got to do the dishes, but happily, there weren’t all that many and I listened to some podcasts while I did it.
I came upstairs and a little while later F came upstairs too. We’ve had a fairly quiet evening. I watched FBI and then found the end of Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale. It is such a terrible movie. I watched it anyway!
And that was it for my day. It was okay. I hope that F feels better tomorrow and we go out and do something. Come back later and find out if we did!
Oh…PS…stop the press…etc. I wanted to mention the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. When I read that she had died I yelled out “No!”. I’m not a US citizen, but I really admire all the work that she has done for women’s rights and more recently equality for all. I watched the documentary RBG last month and I’m doubly glad that I did now. The stakes are now even higher for this upcoming US election.
Until tomorrow….
