Thursday - Sunny but cool

I got up at my usual time, went downstairs and then came back to watch the news. I watched the news and then I fell asleep. And didn’t wake up until really late. Oops. I didn’t do laundry today either. Oh dear.

I got up and got on with my day. I had breakfast and tried to watch a movie on Apple TV, but it didn’t want to work well. I checked my internet and it seemed to be quite low. Oh dear.  I also sewed the tree parts together and then attempted to block them. I made the trunk too. Woot.

I gave K some of the leftovers from yesterday for lunch and had some myself! I watched a lot of YouTube today I think.

I watched the news and then a documentary about the mob in New York. I rather enjoyed that. Afterwards there was a quick look at archery in Tsuruoka and the matching with Moldova. It went over my head, but I recorded a couple of minutes of it for F.

I went downstairs and got started on dinner. We hadn’t bought much at the grocery store for tonight, so I boiled some pasta, mixed it with some canned chicken, frozen veg and pasta sauce and then baked it. I also steamed some carrots and added on some miso soup at the last minute.

Dinner went over well. The casserole was a tad dry, but everyone had seconds, so that was good. And there still is a little bit left for tomorrow. Woot!

K and F went off to the onsen and left me alone with the dishes. I listened to a podcast or two and the time passed quickly. I went upstairs and changed for going out later.

F and K got back after 10 pm. I was surprised. Apparently K took a long time in the bath. F wasn’t too impressed.

F and I talked about what we wanted for dinner tomorrow night. He had asked for nabe. I suggested we get stuff for that, but he said he wanted a tofu nabe. It was fine with me, but then he said I didn’t like it. Apparently, he’d made it years ago and I didn’t like it. I can’t even remember it at all. I asked him what soup base he’d use and it was the same not very tasty one that he usually uses. I DON’T like that one. I’ve tried it, he keeps using it and it has no flavour. Apparently it’s a Japanese staple, but I really don’t like it. I told him that, but said that it was okay if he used it. He refused and got into a snit and said he wouldn’t make nabe and wouldn’t eat with us. Great. I told him I still needed to go to the grocery store to get stuff for my lunch and dinner. He grudgingly agreed to take me there.

We got to the grocery store and went shopping. I asked F if he’d like to reconsider—he wouldn’t. He was quite rude too. I couldn’t find too much that I wanted to cook, so I asked if he’d eat some pork that I found with a marinade on it. No. He can’t eat meat! This is from the man who wants to go to Yakiniku shops? I call BS. I know he shouldn’t eat a lot, but there was no need to get nasty with me.

I got a few things in the store and then he started shopping too. He’s so annoying sometimes. We paid for the stuff and then came back to his house. He put a lot of the stuff away and I’m sitting here hoping that he put stuff in the right places!

He gradually got a little friendlier over the evening, but he really is so nasty at times. So what if I don’t like the taste of something. I’ve tried it a few times, it just doesn’t work for me. I’d still eat his nabe, I’d just probably add something with flavour in it to the soup.

I spent most of the evening watching YouTube videos, I’m nearly as bad as F these days! At least I pay attention when other people talk to me!

So, that’s it for me. Not sure what I’ll get up to tomorrow. Come back in the evening if you want to hear about my day…it’s Friday the 13th. Oh no!

Until tomorrow….
