 Tuesday - Cold and Snowy

I woke up this morning a few minutes before my alarm, made a quick trip downstairs and got back into bed to warm up while the heater did its best to warm up the room. I watched the news, snoozed a bit and then after 10 got up again, dressed and got on with my day.

I was planning to start printing nengajo this morning, but I got sidetracked! I started watching Robin Hood, the Taron Egerton version, but it was boring so I ended up filing a bunch of my Gotochi cards. I separated out the ones that I hadn’t scanned yet, and I’ll try and get on those sometime soonish.

After the movie finished I went downstairs and grabbed my lunch. I was a little late today, but nothing too serious. I heard K in the living room, but didn’t see her. That’s a theme throughout our days here.

I set the heater to come on a little early since it is so freakin’ cold in the kitchen.

I went back upstairs, ate and then watched the news. When that finished, I got into my coat and went outside. I didn’t do a lot of shovelling, but I did do a little. I cleared off the steps of the house and also cleared a bit of F’s parking area.

I went back in and relaxed for 15 minutes. He called me and I went downstairs and started dinner.  Tonight I did sautéed pork served with mustard, butter-soy sauce mushrooms, some pasta/veggie thing from the freezer, plus miso soup and rice for the people who eat it. I remembered to put out the tomatoes for K today too. Almost everything got eaten, and it was nice.

I did the dishes, listening to a podcast and then the news. I went upstairs and waited for F. He came right up and then we left. Luckily, F stopped before we went very far and grabbed the kerosene tanks! We needed to buy more.

We got to the grocery store and looked around. I got some food for the next couple of days and then F started looking for stuff. It was 10 pm, and the store was closing and he took about 5 minutes to decide which bread thing he wanted for his breakfast tomorrow! Ack!

We left the store and then went to the gas station. F got the kerosene and went over to the pumps for the car. The manager told him to move to another pump because the one he was using was broken. The gas station was busy because they were closing in a few minutes so F was lucky we got in.

We came back to the house and I unpacked the groceries while F brought in the kerosene tanks. He also added kerosene to the hot water boiler. Yay.

I took a shower and it was so cold in there! I finished, dried myself quickly and then I came upstairs.

I watched The Handmaid’s Tale. Tonight was a really good episode, but a bit of a mind trip, like many of them are.

I’m not sure what I’m going to get up to tomorrow. Maybe I really will start my nengajo? F is going to be late so I’ll probably have to eat with K. I’m hoping I don’t have to cook something for F too! I’m sure if I don’t cook for him, he’ll make ramen for himself.

That’s about it for me. Come back later if you like and hear all about my Wednesday. Until tomorrow….
