Wednesday - Rainy and cold

I went to bed a bit early for me last night. In fact, I was in bed and probably asleep before F was. That doesn’t happen often. However, this morning, someone woke me up. I wasn’t too happy with him, especially when I got up and found he’d left the door to our room open. I had set the heater to come on early for him and he was letting all of the heat out. Boo! I went downstairs and then went back to bed. I couldn’t fall asleep for a while because someone was very noisy getting ready for work. 

I slept in a bit because I’d woke up early. I got up finally, watched the news and then decided not to do any laundry today either. Sigh. It took a while this morning before I got in the mood to get dressed and on with my day. 

When I went down to get breakfast I was delighted to see that my ornament had arrived. The person who sent it to me was in the US, but it did get here. I really like it, it’s based on a movie and related to a song I love!

The movie featured is White Christmas, the song is Sisters, which is a song I like a lot!

I had a basically quiet afternoon. I finished watching Terminator 2 Judgement Day and all through it and  through the afternoon, I kept hearing the shell horn that the Yamabushi use. They were going through the neighbourhood asking for donations I think.

I didn’t hear from F for ages and I was worried that he would be angry with me from this morning. I went downstairs finally to get started on dinner and a couple of minutes later he called to say he was coming back. 

Tonight I tried a new recipe and made fried rice. It turned out okay, but it was a bit labour intensive to get things ready. I also put too much soy sauce in it, but next time I’ll make fewer mistakes! We had that with garlic shrimp and salad, plus some of K’s daikon miso soup. While I was preparing though, K kept coming in the kitchen to “check” on me. Finally she kind of told me off for not having dinner ready at 7:00 pm. Say what?  F didn’t even get here until 6:30! I’m not going to start cooking until he arrives unless it is something that takes a long time to cook. 

After dinner, I did the dishes as usual and spent ages in the kitchen. It wasn’t too bad today since I had the heater on. I listened to a couple of podcasts so I was entertained.

After I finished, F and I went to the grocery store and got food for a couple of days. Tomorrow night I’m doing chicken, the night after I think it’ll be tacos. Should be exciting.

We came back to the house and had a quiet evening in. I skipped my shower tonight and so did F. I watched Prodigal Son and then The Handmaid’s Tale. The last one particularly was a bit scary! I wrote 4 Christmas cards tonight too. 

And that was about it for me. Tomorrow I’m hoping to go to the post office again and mail a second lot of Christmas cards. Fingers crossed that I’ll be able to do it.
