Monday - Warmer and snowy
I woke up with a start this morning. F announced that he overslept and was going to be late. He got ready in a hurry and left. I got up with him and decided not to go back to sleep after he left. To be honest, my alarm was supposed to go off just after he left, so didn’t see the point. I did get back into bed, but I didn’t sleep more today. I watched the news and then the world news, which is finally back. Yay.
I dragged myself out of bed a bit later and did a load of laundry. I went outside too and did a lot of snow shovelling. It took ages, but I got quite a bit of the snow moved out of the way. I was tired when I finished, so I grabbed my very late breakfast and went upstairs to eat.
A little while later I did another load of laundry and got to hanging the first one up. I almost made it in time, but not quite. I waited a little bit of time and then got my lunch. I had my usual and supplemented it with a few things from our Christmas stock!
When I came back upstairs, I started watching Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse. I had seen about half of it last year, but today I watched it from the beginning. I really enjoyed it. They had an interesting voice cast and some cool ideas. Near the end I had to stop the movie to watch the news, but when the news was over I went back to the movie.
F called me around 5:30 to say he was finished work and would be coming back soonish. I went downstairs to start dinner.
Tonight I made gapao rice, my style, so I chopped up a few mushrooms, half an onion and then I fried them, after that, I put in the ground chicken and continued to cook it all. It was a bit of a feat juggling the cooking of the rice, the chicken and then the eggs to go on top. I got it done, but I messed up the egg for K. Sigh.
We had an okay dinner. It was a one dish meal mostly, and everything was eaten. I liked it a lot though.
I did the dishes and listened to a few podcasts. I really am starting to enjoy listening to Canadian news. It is so even handed, and about news!
F had a beer with dinner and so when I came upstairs he was already in bed. I went on my computer and watched some Apple TV and did some of my crochet. I got about 5 rows done, so that was rather good. I’m still at the part where I’m not sure if I will have enough yarn to get it all done. I really hope I will!
And that’s about my day. F is taking the day off tomorrow to go to the doctor, and I think it is a good idea. He’s been under the weather for a while now.
It’s a bit sad to think that I was in Las Vegas a year ago, living it up in the lovely weather and having an amazing time. We didn’t love Vegas, but we enjoyed spending time together and seeing new places!
