Sunday - Cold and snowy

I went to bed a little earlier last night, but not that much! I slept in this morning and after I got up for a trip downstairs, went back to bed! F went and made some food for his mother and I stayed in bed. I got up a while later and had some cereal. Yum!

F wanted to go and have a massage so he made an appointment. He asked me if I wanted to go with him and be dropped off at the mall first, but I didn’t really. I had cued up a video from a vlog I follow last night but decided not to watch it then. This afternoon, I tried to watch it again, but then I had to go out and help F shovel snow. No worries, I wanted to do that. He left and I went back to my video. Got about 5 minutes in and then F called me from the road. The massage place called him back and asked him to come at a different time! He offered to take me to the mall. I said no. He came back to the house and interrupted my video again. He kept interrupting me, it was almost funny, but kind of annoying too.

I did finally manage to watch it and I got a start on my latest crochet project. I only did a couple of rows, but I have a plan and had to adjust the size of the row, so it took a while to get right.

When F was about to leave, I asked if I could go to the mall after all. He’d be an hour getting a massage so that would be about the right amount of time in the mall. It’s a very small mall!

F dropped me off at the mall and I went in and did a little shopping. I looked around the hundred yen shop and the video/record shop. I bought a few things at the hundred yen shop and at the grocery shop. While I was there, I checked out the deli section, but they didn’t have a lot of decent bentos.

When time was getting low, I went to Doutor and had a cup of their new non-caffeine drink. It’s kinako flavoured and is quite nice. A little sweet perhaps, but not too bad. I got a nice table in the corner and waited for F. I did a little reading and checking of Facebook. The usual.

F came a few minutes later and I gave him my card to get us both a drink. I’d finished mine already. We spent a bit of time in the shop and then decided to leave.

On the way to MaxValu, F asked where I’d like to have dinner and then he suggested the yakiniku buffet place. I reminded him that it wasn’t good for him, so he suggested Pisolino, the Italian buffet place. After checking that he was serious, I said yes. We did our shopping, got something for K’s dinner and my lunches for the next few days, and then came back to the house. F heated up the bento for his mother and then we went back out again.

We went over to Pisolino and went it. Right away I saw a sign and asked F to confirm that it said the restaurant was going to close. No! Sadly, yes it is, in the middle of this month.

We had our temperatures checked and sanitized our hands and then were shown a table. We checked out some of the specials and then put our order in.  We had a cheese dukkalbi pizza and F ordered shrimp and avocado Fettucine with Genovese sauce and I had a chicken and mushroom Japanese style pasta. Usually “Japanese-style” means a soy-sauce base, but this was a kind of soup. It was light and lovely. We both liked mine best! We shared them both. We got some nice food from the buffet and then had a nice meal. The only problem was we both ate too much.

After dinner, we paid and left. It wasn’t quite as painful as it could have been as I had a 500 yen coupon that had been sitting in my wallet for ages.

We picked up some kerosene and gasoline at the gas station and then came back to the house. F put the kerosene in the house and joined me upstairs. Now, I had told him on the way back that I was going to take a shower, and had even turned up the water temperature in the kitchen, so he should have known what I was going to do, but…he forgot.

I went downstairs ready to take a shower but discovered that the water heater had been turned down again. I turned it back up. Then I tried to fill up my water bottle for upstairs. No water. He’d stopped the water too! I turned it back on, filled up my bottles and took them upstairs to tease him a little. He did look rather sheepish when I reminded him that I was going to take a shower!  We also decided that since the temperature was going to be a little warmer overnight that we could leave the water on.

I took my shower, and then came back upstairs. I’ve been up here ever since!

And that was my day. All day I’ve been reminded that a year ago today I was getting ready to go to Las Vegas with my best friend. She picked me up at my sister’s house at about 4 in the morning.  I’m not sure when the next time I’ll even get to see my sister or my BFF again in person, let alone go to Vegas, so it is a little sad.

Hopefully soon after we all get vaccinated!

Come back later if you like and hear all about Monday. What will I get up to? Until tomorrow….
