Sunday - Drizzly and then clearing
Last night I managed to drag myself to bed about an hour earlier than I have been going lately. I am glad because I was able to get up at an almost reasonable time for a holiday Sunday.
F made brunch for his mother and then we went out. We went to Arpeggio today. They weren’t too busy, so we were able to get a table right away. The two of us had the same dish, ground chicken on rice. It was nice, it’s one of my favourite dishes there. Afterwards, the owner gave us some cookies for the road!
We drove out to the mall and went up to the cinema right away. We bought our tickets and some drinks and went to see The Trial of the Chicago 7. It was really good. I don’t really know much about the period in time as I was knee-high to a grasshopper at the time, but the film was good, well written and definitely well-acted. I did think it was a tad odd that they had a bunch of British actors playing the major American characters in the film!
After the movie, we went to Mister Donut in the food court and had a cup of cafe-au-lait with a doughnut. It was pretty good.
We went over to the hardware store next to the mall and F bought some stuff for the garden. He got a planter and some soil. The soil has bat guano in it…Ewww!
We hit up the hundred yen shop across from the mall. I picked up a few things, F picked up a couple of things and then we came back towards Tsuruoka. F said that his mother had enough food at the house for her dinner, so we could go ahead and eat somewhere. We ended up going to Sashimiya, which was a good idea.
At Sashimiya, we had the same thing, a maguro-negitoro donburi and it was nice. We shared a salad as well.
After dinner, we just came back to the house and spent the night here. We both had showers and I watched Project Runway, which was fun.
And...that’s about it. It was a good day. I’m a bit worried as we have no plans for tomorrow. Fingers crossed something fun turns up.
Come back later if you like to hear all about my Monday. Until tomorrow….
