Thursday - Hot and Sunny
I woke up at my usual time this morning but basically fell back asleep. F used his time well, he booked himself a Covid Vaccine. Then he discovered that the second shot would be on a day when he has something else going on. Oh no! He called back and tried to get them to change it but he couldn’t. He ended up cancelling it, rebooking it on another day, then cancelling that, before booking it again. He’s going to be able to get his shot on a Sunday morning at the sports facility across the street. Yay for him!
I finally woke up and we discussed what we’d like to do. F had suggested going to the Internet Cafe, a place we haven’t been in for over a year. I was okay with it but suggested having lunch first. F made brunch for his mother and then we went out.
We went to F’s favourite fish place. In all honesty, it’s not my favourite place. We had their lunch special today which was deep-fried oysters and sashimi. It was okay but I’m not a big fan of oysters. After lunch, we drove over to the Internet Cafe and went in.
F was able to get a massaging chair and I wasn’t. I got a reclining chair, but really I was comfortable and fine. I didn’t do much, but I did watch Bill & Ted Face the Music. It was fun and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Surprisingly, the Internet Cafe now has a lot more films available in English. Woot! I had some of the soft ice cream and a couple of drinks as well. It was nice to be somewhere cool for the day.
When our time was up, I went over to F’s cubicle, but he was on his way over to mine! He often forgets about when to go so it was nice that he didn’t.
We came back to the house for a while and relaxed. K was fine, I watched the news and then F and I talked about dinner. We decided that we’d go out. At first, we were going to go to Kushibiki, then thought about sushi and finally out for curry, but on the way, I suggested going for sushi since it was better for F anyway.
We took K with us to Kintaro Sushi and she seemed quite happy to be out and about. We had some nice sushi and I even went for one of the more expensive sushi types for a change. I had salmon chotto yaki, or salmon lightly grilled with mayo and onions on it. Yum.
We brought K back to the house and then went out to do a little shopping. I got some stuff at the hundred yen shop and then F and I went over to the grocery store to get stuff for dinner tomorrow night. I picked up a few things. I wanted to get a few more in all honesty, but F seemed to be in a hurry to get out of the store. He really rushed me everywhere today.
We came back to the house and put the things away. I washed the tea canister that I bought for myself. I’m going to put my milk powder in it. The system I have now isn’t working well.
I tried to do some printing tonight and also had a look at the new textbook that I’m going to use next week.
I watched Leonardo and F had a conversation with his uncle on the phone. The guy is a bit long-winded, but F respects him a lot so it’s okay I guess.
And that’s about it for my day. Tomorrow I have a video meeting and will be doing pasta for dinner again. I’ve decided that Friday is pasta night. It makes things simple for me.

PS Yes, it was Canada Day today, but many of us Canadians have decided not to celebrate it due to the recent discoveries of unmarked graves at former Residential Schools.
