Sunday - Hot and Sunny

When I woke up this morning, F was already gone. He’d gone over to the park to get his vaccination. He texted me after a while to say that he couldn’t leave until 10:20 as he had to wait to check to see if he had a bad reaction. I sent him a message to say that I was getting ready and I would make sure the food in the fridge was packed up by the time he got back.

He came back a little before 10:30 and the pasta salad was already packed up in our small cooler. I’d put all of the ice packs that I found and then F found a few more for me.

We left the house and got on the road. We were a little late arriving and F had to park quite far away, but we arrived. I took the food in and F parked the car with my friend’s help.

We got lunch on the table fast. We visited for a while, I did some playtime with my friend’s daughter and F took a nap after he went out and bought us all ice cream! We had a lovely time, the food was great and the conversation was lively.

After a while, my friend had to go shopping and we thought about leaving to do a little shopping. We took some pictures and then left. F and I drove to the closest Aeon Mall and then did a bit of shopping. I looked at their craft corner and they were selling off yarn. I asked F if he’d like me to make him another scarf and he said yes. So, we bought some yarn. I hope I bought enough, but it is quite nice-looking stuff.

We visited Mister Donut as well to have a drink and a doughnut. They have decaf coffee available at Mr Donut which makes me quite happy.

Over our drinks, F suggested going to a fancy restaurant that we went to once before. I was a bit surprised but was happy to agree. We went quite early, just after they opened at 5 pm.

We were escorted to our table and advised to be careful crossing the bridge. Yes, there’s a bridge inside the restaurant. In fact, there are a couple of bridges and a whole lot of fish! It was rather fun to be in a restaurant and get to watch and listen to the koi swimming and splashing in the pond. We had a very nice meal, we had some delicious food and just enjoyed ourselves.

Some appetizers. We had some steamed chicken, some tofu in Italian Dressing and a small pickled salad. It was all lovely.

Shrimp bisque

Steak, crusty bun and mini salad plus steamed veggies.

Vanilla ice cream, cheesecake, melon, orange slice and strawberry plus coffee.

We drove back to Tsuruoka after stopping at a fried chicken shop. F picked up a bento for K. He gave it to me and I held it all the way back to Tsuruoka. I advised F that I would probably fall asleep on the way back, he countered with a little joke that he would too. I did, I don’t think he did!

We gave K her bento and then we went out to buy groceries. I’ll cook tomorrow night and on Tuesday. But, since I work on Tuesday I’ll switch my pasta night to Tuesday so that I have a little easier time of it. I’ll see how this goes. Technically, I’ll be back at the house before F, so I should be able to cook. I just want to be able to relax for a few minutes first.

We drove back to the house, put the groceries away and came upstairs. I’d opened the window after we came back since it was extremely hot in the room. It wasn’t my idea to leave the room shut up. It had cooled 4 degrees in the time we’d been gone, however, it was still quite hot in the room. We ran the AC for a while until F noticed it was cooler outside than inside. However, it is quite humid. Sigh. [5 minutes after writing this…he was too hot again and asked me to turn on the AC.]

We had a quiet evening except when I turned on the TV to watch Project Runway nothing happened. I couldn’t see it. I got F to look at the TV and the DVR. Something’s going on. I think the machine may have overheated but F doesn’t think so. I hope it comes back tomorrow!

And that’s about it. Tomorrow I may tune into a Zoom meeting, or I might just veg for a while and review my classes for Tuesday. I might even get a start on F’s scarf! Come back later and find out.

Until tomorrow….
