Sunday - Rainy and warm
I went to bed late again. I had watched Project Runway on YouTube last night, I was worried that if I waited it might be removed and then I would have to wait until it was on TV!
This morning, F let me know that he was going to take his mother to the onsen, so I slept for another hour and then got up. When I did get up, I dressed and decided to do a little housekeeping. I swept the stairs. I’m hoping that K will not try and do it next week. She does it to show me up I think!
When F came back he was in a good mood. Yay. We went out for my lunch and I suggested Coco’s again. This time we went. I had, after much thought, the mustard cream cocotte burger and drink bar. F got his free dessert for his birthday and drink bar. F as usual didn’t really like his food, but that’s to be expected really. At least it was free dear!
We ran quite a few errands after lunch. We went over to the hardware store and F bought switches to fix the toilet room’s light switch. It’s been difficult lately to turn the light on. We looked at clocks there for the kitchen. I did get a little miffed when F picked one out without even consulting me. I pointed out that if it was in the kitchen, I’d be looking at it more than he would! We left the store without buying one.
We went over to the nearby electronic shop and F picked out a clock. He told me that his new idea was to put the new clock in our bedroom since it is a self-adjusting clock, it receives radio waves or something, and move our present bedroom clock (that always runs a good 5-20 minutes fast) in the kitchen. I could live with that, so let him pick the clock that he wanted. It was fine for the price he wanted to pay.
After he bought it, I reminded him that I had wanted to look for a speaker for my iPhone. When I listen to podcasts in the kitchen the sound isn’t great. It took a while to find the Bluetooth speakers, but I finally did. F asked a clerk if we could get a discount since it was cheaper on Amazon, and we got a small one. I was rather happy. I bought my speaker, I got a red one to match my iPhone. Yay me!
We went to the grocery store next and bought a few things for dinner for the next couple of nights and a good bento for K. We went back to the house and discovered that F bought the new switches just in time. The light switch for the toilet room had completely given up the ghost. F had to hold the switch on for me to use the toilet before he got to work!
I put away the groceries and then went upstairs to start charging my speaker. I got it opened up and plugged it into the power bar. F tried to set up the new clock in the bedroom. It was a little difficult to reach, but he got it up on the wall.
We went out for dinner and sadly our first choice was closed because it was busy. Then, we decided to try downtown. We went to Foodever first, but the only place open was the meat place, and neither of us was feeling it tonight. Instead, we went to the fish izakaya across the street in the old Mister Donut building. I usually don’t like going there because they have always had really young waitstaff and they weren’t very good. However, tonight, there was only one guy working the floor and he wasn’t young. He was busy and seemed to know his stuff.
F had a mixed fish donburi and I had one with salmon and ikura. We also shared an order of nankotsu and one of an eggy-taro potato kind of thing. The nankotsu was good, the eggy thing wasn’t anything special.
F wanted to go back to the grocery store, so we did. I picked up a couple of things that were on my master list and I hadn’t remembered earlier. F got something for his breakfast and some fake beer. We paid and then got back in the car.
Next up was the gas station to get some kerosene. F filled up the canisters and then we left. We got back to the house. I put the couple of things that I bought away and then remembered that F hadn’t brought in the kerosene.
I came upstairs and reminded him, and after a few minutes, he went downstairs and then I got a phone call from him. Apparently, he hadn’t put the tanks of kerosene back in the car! He’d filled them up, paid for the kerosene, and then left them at the gas station. He drove over right away to see if they were still there. He phoned me to say that the person at the gas station had put them aside for him, so that was good.
He came back to the house and I assume put the kerosene away. After that, he came upstairs and had a bit of a relaxing time before going to bed. He’s not asleep yet as I can hear him moving around at times, but hopefully, he will be soon. Anyway, I have to get out of here. I need some sleep you know!
Come back later if you like and hear all about my Monday. Until tomorrow….
