Living La Vida Loca In Japan: November 3, 2021

Wednesday - Cloudy and rainy

I went to bed at an incredibly late hour…somewhere around 4 am. I swear, I look at the time and it is 2:30 and then the next minute it was 3:45am. Ack.

I slept in this morning until a bit after 10:30am. I woke up and F was back in the room. He’d given his mother some food and was back watching YouTube.

I got up, dressed and we went out for lunch. Since F didn’t really need to eat, I asked to go for Indian food. I rarely get to go for Indian and that’s what I wanted. We went and had a pretty good meal AND it was under budget, so there! F was saying a few weeks ago that Indian was expensive…it isn’t for lunch.

After lunch, F got really whiny. I’m not sure what was his problem. He hadn’t planned anything for the day, didn’t like my suggestion of going to the Internet Cafe, and just wanted to pout. He accused me of not knowing where I wanted to eat. Huh? I did today. I think he was feeling unwell and just wanted to take it out on me.

Our original plan had been to do our bedding today, but when we came back to the house, F threw himself on the bed and pouted for a while. I did the computer thing and even watched a bit of Apple TV this afternoon.

A bit later, F roused himself and started stripping the bed. He announced that he was going to wash everything himself downstairs. Okay fine! He had to do it in three loads or so, it was rather funny. Of course, I let him do it. I did try and help but we had a bit of an argument and I left him to it.

When it was all done, we took it to a local laundromat and dried it. F wanted to get his mother a bento so I suggested that he start the laundry drying with me and then go off and buy the bento and deliver it. I’d stay with the laundry. It wasn’t really necessary, but I felt more comfortable doing it that way.

F came back before the dryer ran out of time. We checked it, but some things were still a little damp, so we gave it a few more minutes. It was done after that, so we folded up our bedding and put it in the car. I asked that we go to the second-hand cd shop near the laundromat. I didn’t get very much time there as F wasn’t feeling that great. We went back to the house and put the bed back together. It looks really nice!

Then, we went out for dinner. F suggested gyudon, but I just couldn’t. I had a bad experience a couple of years ago and I just can’t go back to the place. I suggested a Japanese Curry place and F said it was okay. On the way there, F announced that he couldn’t eat anything. Okay then, that’ll be fun. We got to the restaurant and then I asked if he could eat something at a nearby restaurant, an udon shop. Of course, he said yes. We went there instead.

It wasn’t too busy, happily for us. I wanted to have some spicy udon, but they were sold out of it. I had a Champon noodle dish instead. It was okay.

After dinner, we stopped into a drugstore that has just opened a section of a hundred yen shop. We went in and had a look. I got a few things, so did F.

We came back to the house. I took a shower and then watched Grey’s Anatomy and then turned off the TV. F stayed up quite late, but then again he has the day off tomorrow. He’s off to bed now and I should be getting myself to bed soon too.

I wasn’t planning to post tonight, but I did. Old habits die hard I guess!
