Saturday - Warm and clear! Woot!
I went to bed very late last night and woke up this morning to a quiet room. No F. Oh no! Surprisingly, he left me a note and said that he’d gone to the doctor’s office. Yay him. I got dressed and decided to wait for him. I wasn’t sure how long he’d be. F came back a bit before 12 and made his mother her lunch.
He came upstairs and asked where I wanted to go for lunch. I had a suggestion for a change, Togashi. It’s our favourite yakiniku restaurant. They are a little expensive, but the meat is very good there. F was okay with going there, so we drove over.
I found our customer card and a coupon for 500 yen, so we took those into the store. We were lucky enough to get seated right away. We both had Kalbi sets although F had larger rice than I did. We had soft drinks and food and had a lovely meal. Because we have a member card we got a free mini-dessert each for free. It was just a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream, but it was the perfect amount for the end of our meal.
After lunch, we drove out to Mikawa Mall and parked. Since F’s knee is really acting up. I suggested not parking near the movie section as we had plans to go to Aeon a couple of times. I didn’t want to make F walk too far. We parked somewhat in the middle of the mall! We went to Aeon and I put my new yoga pants in to be shortened. My sister sent them to me for my birthday and they are great but too long.
After doing that, F and I walked along the mall to the cinema. It is getting sad in the mall though. There are a ton of empty spaces. I’m quite worried about the mall. Will it be able to survive? I hope so!
We bought our tickets and then decided to have some ice cream since we had about 30 minutes before the movie. It was close by. I discovered that I had a coupon for free ice cream for my birthday month so I had that. F had a double scoop, but his wasn’t free!
We went to the movie and got drinks and popcorn. We went to see Death on the Nile. I enjoyed it, although F fell asleep on it. It wasn’t the best movie I’ve seen this year, nor did I love it, but it was fun and I like Kenneth Branagh so I was happy!
After the movie, F’s knee was really bad. He’d left his walking stick in the car, so I offered to go and get it for him. We got him seated outside the cinema and I went off and got it for him. When I came back, we talked about going to the Aeon grocery shop to get a bento for K, but then decided to go to a grocery shop in Tsuruoka for one.
We drove back to our city and did go to the grocery store. We found a nice bento for K and I got some spice packets for some of the meals I make. We came back to the house and got K up for her dinner.
I let F suggest the place he wanted to go for dinner and he chose a place he took me once before. I wasn’t too happy at the idea but didn’t say too much. We drove there and went in. I asked F a couple of times to check and see what was available on their menu but of course, he didn’t. I ordered something that they didn’t have. Probably the same thing I ordered last time I was there too! Anyway, I felt in a mapo-dofu kind of mood, so we asked about getting it on yakisoba and they agreed to make that for me. And…it was great! I was really surprised. We ate, paid and thanked them for letting me have what I did.
We went to a drugstore next, F needed some window washing liquid for the car and I needed some stuff. We got everything, except F’s stuff! The problem was that we forgot about F’s stuff until we were nearly back to the house. I suggested going to another drugstore and they had his stuff right in the doorway. Woot! That was the only thing that we bought there as we got a lot of stuff at the other store!
Back at the house, we had a quiet evening in. I took a shower and then came upstairs to watch Resident Alien. The show is really growing on me. It’s crazy.
F fell asleep a while ago, and I’m quite tired now too. I really should get myself off to bed. I’m not sure what we’re going to do tomorrow. That just means you’ll have to come back later and find out! Until tomorrow….
