Saturday - Rainy and cloudy and cool

Today is the 25th anniversary of the day that I left Canada for Japan!

I woke up when my alarm went off this morning. F and K were already gone, they had gone to get their booster shots. I got up, dressed and then played around on my computer for a long while.

F brought K back but then went off to see his doctor about his knee. He also visited another doctor’s office to pay for our Covid treatments or something.

F came back to the house around 1 pm. He called on the way and I suggested that he buy a bento for his mother since she was bopping around the house. That’s a sure sign that she’s looking for food.  He got her something nice.

F and I went out for lunch. He wanted his fish restaurant. I really didn’t really want to go there, but hey, I can be flexible sometimes. We drove over there but it was closed. Oh, dear. We ended up going to another place behind Shopping Area Pal. I had pasta there and F had curry ramen.

F wasn’t feeling so great after lunch so wanted to go back to the house. I asked if we could go to Gyomu Super so F said it was okay. I got him to stay in the car and I went in. Actually, at first, he had to stay in as there weren’t any parking spaces! I picked up some tortillas and bagels, and a few other goodies. Yay. F did come in for a few minutes, but it is so crowded in there and there isn’t much room for a person on crutches.

We came back to the house after this and spent a little while relaxing. I had asked that we go to the mall to see a movie, but the movie started around 5:30. F suddenly sat up in bed around 3:30 and asked if we should leave now. Umm, no! He ended up going out a bit later to get K another bento and then we left for the mall. Well, sort of.

When I got into the car, F was on the phone with someone. It took a while to deal with and then we were on the way. When we got to the mall we only had a few minutes before the movie started. I left F at the car and went in to get the tickets. He is pretty fast on his crutches and caught up to me. I got the movie tickets, he got the popcorn and drinks. We went in to see Nightmare Alley

We both really enjoyed the movie, even though it was very dark. We were the only two people in the whole theatre! That was rather unusual.

After the movie, we came back to Tsuruoka. We went to Kappa Sushi for our dinner. It was F’s idea and it was pretty good. We had a few dishes of sushi, some fries, some tempura and somewhere along the way I realized that I hadn’t eaten any meat all day. That is pretty rare for me!

We came back to the house and relaxed. F went to bed fairly soon but I watched Resident Alien. It just finished the first season today. I really liked it. After that, I turned off the TV. I did do a bit of work on my crochet blanket during the show. It’s going okay, but definitely is a hexagon rather than a circle!

And that is pretty much it for my day. I’ve blogged and watched YouTube for long enough today! I’m not sure what we’re going to get up to tomorrow. It will depend on how F is feeling really. I will have to get a few groceries but apart from that, who knows?

Come back a bit later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….

Wow. Helen, 25 years! How time...I mean, I don't even know what to say. Congratulations and on having a lovely record of the entire time too for that matter. :)

And just rereading it now lets me see that I wrote "crochet blanket" when I should have written crochet BASKET. Gah!
