Sunday - Sunny but cool
I woke up this morning when F banged around in the room this morning. I did go back to sleep though. When my alarm went off and I woke up, I got up and went downstairs.
I got dressed and waited for F to finish what he was doing. He had made some ramen for his mother’s brunch. He’s such a nice guy. I bet he probably had some too!
We discussed where to go for our lunch. I suggested either yakiniku or Arpeggio, and F chose yakiniku. Yay! We went to Togashi, the good yakiniku place and had our lunch. We had the same thing, the kalbi lunch and it was nice. We also had our free desserts and they were good too. We paid and left.
We did a bit of shopping after our lunch. We went to Shimamura and bought socks. We were looking around a bit and I saw a triangular pillow and suggested that it might work for F’s leg. He ended up getting it. It’s one that you can lean on or put your feet up on, or whatever. Hope it is better than the other ones we’ve got him.
We went to Cafe Studio Cinq for a coffee each and a bit of wifi. It’s a lovely space, clean and modern with a great view of the river and the street next to it. I’m not sure why more people don’t go there!
F wanted to visit a drugstore and I remembered that the new drugstore in S-Mall should be open now. We went into the mall and F got what he needed. He was planning to get a haircut, so I asked to be left in the mall for a while. He went off to the hair place down the street and I hacked around the little mall.
I visited the hundred yen shop of course and got a few things that I probably shouldn’t have, and others that were fine! I walked around a bit on the second floor and then went to use the washroom. I was thinking as I went in that it would be typical F if he called me when I was in the washroom. Well, yes, he did! It’s kind of embarrassing speaking English in the public washroom! Apparently, he’d arrived in the mall. I went downstairs and met up with him.
We left the mall and went to do our grocery shopping. I left F in the car and I went in and bought the groceries. I got a bento for K and something for us all for dinner on Monday and Tuesday. Yay. I got some vegetables too, just for good measure.
We made a quick stop at Gyomu Supa again for me to pick up some kimchi. One of the dishes I’m planning to make needs kimchi and F said there wasn’t much of his left.
We got back to the house and I put away the groceries. I asked F if he wanted me to give his mother her bento and he said yes. I went downstairs and heated it up and then I tried to wake K up. Oh, dear! It was really hard. I didn’t want to shake her but I shouted and turned on her lights. Finally, she got up to eat.
I went upstairs again and F and I relaxed for a while. Neither of us was very hungry. Finally, around 8 we went out and had dinner at Coco’s Ichibanya Curry. I had the new Spice Curry and F had the clam curry. Mine was good but very spicy.
After dinner, we came back to the house and relaxed. I watched a bit of Apple TV and just after midnight went over and spent a few minutes with F.
That’s about it for my day. It was lovely to be out of the house as much as I was. Tomorrow morning in Japan is the Academy Award ceremony. I’ll be watching but I’m not sure if I’ll Facebook them this year. As usual, I haven’t seen that many of the films. Sigh.
Come on back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
