Saturday - Warm and sunny
I went to bed very late last night and unfortunately woke F up. He took to Twitter to mention it! Oh dear.
This morning I woke up before my alarm, but thought that it was Friday again! F had gone to his doctor so wasn’t here. I did a washroom run and then came back upstairs and went back to bed. F showed up a few minutes later and he got back into bed. He fell asleep after a while, I got up.
Closer to 1:00 I suggested going out and having lunch. After a long while, we went out. I had asked for Cocos because I like it and it isn’t too expensive if we used coupons from our apps. We went there and had a pretty decent lunch. I had my favourite pork hamburger in a mustard cream sauce. F had some chicken and we both had the drink bar. I kept us in drinks as it is difficult for F to get up to get his own.
After lunch we went for a drive. F promised to take me to Matsugaoka to see the mizubasho or skunk cabbage. It’s a thing apparently. We didn’t find the right spot at first, but after a few frightening minutes of F driving in the middle of rice fields on one lane roads, he asked someone! We went to the place and I was a bit worried to see that there were some steep old steps to go down to the flowers. That wasn’t the worst part though. The walkway to the flowers was rotting. There were parts where it looked like we could fall through the wood. I’ll be honest, I told F I didn’t think he should go down the steps but he did. He also went along the walkway.
The flowers were sort of pretty, I guess, but really I didn’t think they were anything to write home about.
After we found our way back to Tsuruoka, we went for coffee to Komeda Coffee. We both had some cafe-au-lait. F had a free coffee jelly that we had coupons for. Over our coffee we decided to go to the grocery store and get bentos for our dinner.
We did that. We didn’t do our usual grand tour of the grocery store, but we managed to find some bentos that looked good. We paid and then came back to the house.
I got to heat up the bentos while F got his mother up. Yes, even at 7 pm she was in bed. Sigh. She’s the opposite of me! Dinner was okay. We watched the news on TV and then I did the dishes. I left the actual dishes in the sink tonight.
After dishes I headed upstairs and a little later, F came upstairs too. I watched an episode of The Afterparty on Apple TV and then at 11pm an episode of FBI on TV. It was okay.
F is in bed now and I really need to get to sleep soon. We have no plans for tomorrow, well, nothing too exciting anyway.
