Saturday - Sunny and warm
Today was a pretty good day, which was lovely.
I woke up this morning because once again, F had forgotten to turn off his alarm. He was still in the house or had just come back, I’m not sure which. Anyway, before I fell back asleep, he came back and said that his doctor wasn’t open today! Poor thing. He didn’t need to get up so early.
I slept for a while. F came back to bed and we had a very nice snuggle for a while. He made his mother something to eat and then suggested that we go out.
We did the usual “where shall we eat?” thing and today I suggested the Grand El Sun or Kissa Marina. F chose Grand El Sun despite me telling him that they had raised their prices.
We went and were seated in a small room to ourselves. They have changed their menu a bit and yes, the prices have gone up a little. It was still quite reasonable in my opinion. Today I had grilled pork and F had grilled salmon with bread crumbs. Mine was great. I went to their drink bar for F and everything went well.
After lunch, F had scheduled himself a massage, so he dropped me off at S-Mall and then he went off to have his massage. I did a little shopping and walked around the mall. In the end, I was supposed to meet F in Doutor, but it was quite busy. He drove over to the mall, but couldn’t find a good place to park. I ended up jumping in the car while he was looking.
He suggested going to Sakata to look for a dining table and I was okay with that. I did tell him that I really did need a drink so we made a quick stop at Mos Burgers to get one.
We drove to Mashima in Sakata and had a look at furniture. There wasn’t much that would do. F had such a narrow requirement…he’s worried about the tatami in the room, I could care less. I don’t like tatami at all. I get that it is expensive to replace, but personally, I wouldn’t bother! I’d put flooring in instead! No one even talked to us at that shop!
He decided to try another store that he knew, so we went there. They had gorgeous stuff and did have some chairs that F would do. The guy showed him a very low chair at first and I balked. It would be worse than sitting on the floor like I do now. The other chair he showed us, was quite nice, but the fabric on the seat was orange. That would have to be changed!
They were going to close in a few minutes and didn’t have exactly what F wanted so we left. We popped into the drugstore next to it and picked up yet another drink!
We decided to have dinner in Sakata and went over to Alba to have curry. The restaurant was quite busy, but we were lucky enough to get in. I had chicken and eggplant-baked curry, and F had chicken and scallops I think. We ate and left because the restaurant was busy and people were waiting at the door.
We came back to Tsuruoka and hit up a grocery store to get a bento for K and a few other things as well. We were closer to the house when F said that he wanted to go to the convenience store nearby. He got some oolong tea and we picked up a few other things there.
At the house, F got his mother up and gave her some food. I came upstairs and relaxed for a bit. At 11 pm I watched FBI and then the early on news plus an episode of Bake-off.
F I think has gone to sleep quite a while ago. I’ll be going off to bed soon I think.
So, that’s my day. It was mostly pretty good. F and I got on well for the most part and we had some really nice food for a change!
I’m not sure what we’re going to get up to tomorrow. Please come back if you are interested and find out! Until tomorrow….
