Sunday - Cloudy and cool

I woke up quite early this morning. F was talking about taking his mother to the onsen. I was pretty tired so wished him a good trip. I went back to sleep!

I woke up at 11 and the house was still empty. I got dressed and a little while later F and presumably K came back!

F and I spent a bit of time together and then talked about lunch. I suggested going to the tonkatsu restaurant at the Bussankan, and F thought it was a good idea. When we got there, the restaurant was quite busy. I had found some coupons in the car for the restaurant, so we had to sign up for a table and then prepay for the food. However, we each got 200 yen off our meal, so that was good!

Lunch was very nice and afterwards, we left. We headed to K’s Denki to use the washroom. After that, we went to see if we could send my BFF’s present to her. We went to one of the courier services in town, but they were a bust. They told us that I can't send it because it is from person to person. They suggested using the post office, which I can’t do…that’s the reason I was trying to send it via courier. ACK. I can’t send anything except envelopes to Canada via the post office at the moment.

After we failed there, F suggested trying a place in Mikawa. I was okay with that, so we drove out there. The office was barely open when we arrived. In fact, F had to call the office to get anyone to come and talk to us. The guy said no they didn’t ship internationally. Sigh.

Since we were in Mikawa anyway, I suggested going to Nitori to check out tables and chairs. F was okay with that. We went in and looked around. They had tables and they had chairs, but not in a set. I found nice chairs but F said they were too expensive. Anyway, we ended up leaving empty-handed.

We next went to the hardware store nearby as F wanted to look around. He looked at the furniture and suggested getting a very low chair. I said no, emphatically. I sat on the chair and my knees were higher than my hips. That would be hard as heck to get up out of the chair, and who the heck wants to sit that low to the ground anyway?

F then picked up some Morning Glory seeds for his green curtain. After that, we went back to Tsuruoka.

I had to do a grocery shop. I wasn’t very inspired this visit and grabbed some pre-made hamburgers and some bacon as well. I’m going to do hamburgers and fries for dinner tomorrow night and on Tuesday it’ll be pancakes hopefully.

We came back to the house and stayed there for a while. I put the groceries away and then came upstairs. F and I relaxed for a while but around 8 pm I said to F that we had to go and eat, especially if his mother wanted to go with us. He checked with her and she didn’t want to go out for dinner. She had a bento from last night that she ate, so it wasn’t like she was hungry.

F and I went out to Kappa Sushi and had an okay meal. It wasn’t busy so we got in right away. We didn’t go crazy ordering food, so that was good too.

After dinner, we hit up a drugstore. I needed some stuff and I’d not been able to get it earlier in the weekend.

We came back to the house and relaxed. I changed into my pyjamas quite early and later took a shower. When I came back, I watched an episode of Bake-Off. I know these episodes are over ten years old, but I haven’t seen them, and I love them!

F is mostly sleeping now. He does wake up from time to time. I should get myself to bed as it is quite late and I might need my wits about me tomorrow!

Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
