Monday - Hot and Sunny
Today was okay. It was hot and humid of course, but supposedly it will rain on Tuesday bringing a bit of cooler weather. It’ll probably also bring a lot more humidity so that will be fun. Not!
F woke me up a bit this morning looking for his glasses and a few other things. Ack. Luckily, he found his glasses and went off to work. I woke up again at 8 am and got up. I watched the news this morning and then, yes, I did have a little snooze today too. I deserved it! Well, maybe not.
I had a quiet morning and afternoon. I managed not to turn on the AC until after 2pm. It was almost 33 °C in our room, so I felt that it was okay.
I had lunch and watched The Handmaid’s Tale from last week. It was a good and sort of sad episode. I probably will not watch tomorrow’s episode live. I want F to be able to sleep!
F called around 5:30 tonight, so I went downstairs soon after and made a start on dinner. I think I did a pretty good job tonight. I had looked up a recipe for an eggplant mushroom dish, so I made that. I had some eggplant and mushrooms that really needed using up. I also prepped some chicken for baking, washed some salad greens and made an avocado salad. I guess I was busy! The eggplant mushroom thing was good and we all enjoyed it. I didn’t have the herbs that it asked for, but I used some dry ones.
Dinner was pretty good tonight. I was surprised that F seemed to like it a lot.
After dinner, I did the dishes which took a while. K kept coming into the kitchen and needing to use the sink. I was a little annoyed. Enough already! I listened to a movie podcast and enjoyed that a lot. When I was finished with the dishes, I did up the garbage in the kitchen. Today, K received a bunch of edamame, so I had a ton of shells that she gifted me with. Argh. I went upstairs when I was done, and F followed soon after.
F has an early start tomorrow morning so he took a shower first. I took one after him and then came upstairs and watched an episode of Loot on my Apple TV+. I don’t hate the show, but I’m not sure if I’m crazy about it yet.
F went to bed and is sleeping I think now. I’ve been watching YouTube and blogging away.
Tomorrow I’m going to be making chicken salad sandwiches for dinner. Well, actually, just chicken salad and some toast…it’s a make your own sandwich kind of thing. I’ll have a few things to go with it as well.
I’d like to do a bit of laundry tomorrow if I can get motivated early enough. Come back later if you like and find out if I manage! Until tomorrow….
