 Friday - Hot and Sunny again

This has been a wild and woolly day for those of us in Japan. Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot earlier today and was declared dead at 5 pm. To be honest, I was/am not a fan of his party’s politics but I believe in Democracy and allowing people to vote for the party/people that they want in power. 

I had a usual sort of day today. I woke up, went downstairs, watched the news and fell back asleep for a while. I did a load of laundry and hung it up. When it was done, I checked some of my favourite websites and discovered the news about Mr. Abe. 

The rest of the day passed as it usually does. I texted F to see if he had heard about the shooting, and he had. I grabbed my lunch later in the day and noticed that K hadn’t grabbed her lunch. I heated it up for her and gave it to her. 

I watched another episode of The Boys over lunch and then tuned into the US news later in the day. They didn’t have the news yet, we get the news a bit behind the US…or we’re too far ahead or something. 

F and I had a hard time connecting tonight. He called, but he couldn’t hear me. I think the phone thing in the car wasn’t working well. He said he was on the way back. I suggested getting something for dessert. We’ve had dessert most nights this week, so it was nice to have something cold tonight too.

K didn’t fight me tonight when I closed the doors and windows and turned on the AC. I had the AC on upstairs since lunchtime. It was almost 32 degrees in my room tonight, so I had to have it on. I think she likes using the AC if someone “makes” her use it!! Does that make sense?

Tonight I made pasta with salad and shrimp in mayo. It was nice, but neither K nor F wanted to eat very much. That was a little sad. They both had ice cream afterwards though!

I cleaned up afterwards and did the dishes. I listened to a podcast comparing movies again. I enjoyed listening to it, but disagreed with their conclusions. 

I told F I was going to go upstairs but he beat me to it! We spent a bit of time together and then I went downstairs and took a shower. I really needed one!

I came back upstairs and watched another episode of The Boys. It’s a bit weird and I’m not sure if I like it or not. It’s funny, but it is awful too. I turned off the TV after that and got started on my computer stuff. Well, that and some YouTube videos.

So that’s about it for me. I’m not sure what we’re going to get up to tomorrow. I know F has a busy morning planned for himself. I’m hoping that we’ll go to a movie tomorrow night. Fingers crossed.
