Saturday - Cloudy and rainy
I woke up fairly early again, I went downstairs and when I came back upstairs, so did F. I was rather surprised as I thought he’d gone to the doctor’s office. He had, but the doctor’s office still wasn’t open yet. I guess he left later, I had fallen back asleep.
When my alarm went off later, I got up and got dressed. F came back a bit later. He had scheduled a massage for himself so we left the house around 11:30. It turned out to be a little late as the traffic was crazy. F dropped me off near S-Mall and I went in. I had a light breakfast and then did a little shopping.
After an hour and a bit, F called me and said he was done. Then he started talking about going for fish for lunch. I had no interest in that, I didn’t really understand what he was saying. The mall was noisy and F was mumbling again. He drove to the mall and I jumped into the car. He said that he wanted to go to the fish restaurant in the old Mr. Donuts. I don’t like that place. Usually, the waitstaff is terrible and every time I ask for something to eat, they don’t have it.
We ended up going to the restaurant at the Bussankan. We both had tonkatsu and it was pretty good. F complained a bit about the price. Sigh. It wasn’t that much and it doesn’t seem to matter how often I remind him about prices at the moment, he doesn’t remember that things cost more money.
After lunch, we decided to go to the Tsuruoka Art Forum. I was really interested in their exhibit at the moment. It was called Enlightenment and featured 4 artists and lights. Some of it was really cool. The Art Forum is on two levels so we asked that F be able to use the elevator to go up to the second floor. Happily, they were okay with that. Some of the exhibits/displays were very cool. Some were just okay. I’m not sure which artist made this one, but the room was full of lights hanging from the ceiling. They were at different lengths and it was quite an amazing feeling being in the room. Outside the room, they asked that people be careful with bags and hair accessories in case they got caught, so I took my bag off my back and carried it. It was a good thing I think!
Here are a couple of pictures for your viewing pleasure!
After going through the Art Forum, we needed a drink. We were going to go to one place nearby, but they had closed early. Oh no. F took us to Starbucks and we both had frappuccinos. The store was busy, but we were able to get a table. We spent a bit of time there and then went off and grabbed a bento and something else for K. We came back to the house and F gave the bento to his mother. We came upstairs and relaxed for a while.
The Fireworks in Tsuruoka started at 7:30. Unfortunately, it seemed like the rain began five minutes after that. We watched a bit from our window but decided that we really should go and get something to eat. F wanted to go to an unagi place, but I reminded him that the last time we went to his place it was expensive and not up to his standards. He then suggested a gyudon place. I wasn’t happy but said I’d go. They sell unagi too. He then wanted a ramen shop but I put the kibosh on that!
We drove to the Gyudon shop and had a couple of types of gyudon. As expected, F didn’t have unagi. Neither did I, but I never planned to. I had a lemon and garlic gyudon. It wasn’t great. F didn’t like his much either. Over dinner F was watching videos, as usual, only this time, he called the person on his screen his “TikTok girlfriend.” I said, “Excuse me?” and he said it again. “She’s my TikTok Girlfriend.” I didn’t take his “joke” well. I didn’t say much at the time, but once back at the house I haven’t bothered to say very much to him at all. He’s been tweeting to at least one of the girls he watches and even had the nerve to tell her that I thought she was beautiful. Umm….what? I’ve no idea who she is. Apparently, she sings on TikTok…I have no idea.
I took a shower after we got back to the house and a bit later watched some TV. I know that F thinks this is a big joke and so funny, but I don’t.
No idea what I’ll get up to tomorrow. I have no idea if F and I will have a chat about this or not. Guess you’ll have to come back and find out. Until tomorrow….
