Tuesday - Hot, humid and horrible, with a touch of rain I think

I went to bed a little bit early last night and managed to finish the book I was reading. That was good. It ended the way those historical romances tend to…the heroine is madly in love and knocked up. Sigh.

I didn’t sleep that well last night. F woke up and moved around a bit, that woke me up. I also heard him this morning. I woke up at 8:00am and I was in a sweat. I checked the room temperature and it was already 30 degrees. Can you believe it? I’m afraid I didn’t even try to gaman, I just turned on the AC. Yep, at 8am. I didn’t turn it off until I went down to make dinner.

I came back to the room from downstairs and watched the news from the bed. After that, I did my usual nap thing, but I did a little messaging with F. I told him that Olivia Newton-John died. It’s quite sad. She was a very good singer. My first memory of her is when she was representing Britain at the Eurovision Song Contest. We were upset when she didn’t win, but she was up against ABBA, so that was slightly understandable.

I had a quiet day really. I went downstairs to grab breakfast and the doorbell rang. F’s sister came over to visit her mother. K was up today but didn’t hear the doorbell of course. I let her into the house and then made a break for upstairs.

It was very hot in the afternoon and I got sleepy again after breakfast. I’m afraid I took a nap for a bit. When I woke up, I went downstairs and eventually grabbed my lunch.

While I was eating I watched last week’s episode of The Handmaid’s Tale. It was an interesting one where no one died and it took place in Canada. Woot.

I watched the news and then F called not too long afterwards. I went downstairs and got started on dinner. Tonight I was making gapao rice and for a change, we actually had green peppers on hand. I added some of them to the mixture tonight. When F arrived I told him that I would need some help later to get the rice in the bowls. He said he’d help.  I got busy. I fried the vegetables and then when they were cooked I added in the meat. Then when it was nearly done, I called F to come down. I started frying a couple of eggs. He brought me some rice and then I topped the bowls with eggs. Done! He actually helped a bit by taking some stuff out to the table. He didn’t do it all, I still had to grab the glasses and some tea, but it was a help.

A friendly little green pepper. It didn't make me hiccup, so that's good!

We ate and the gapao rice was quite good. Everyone seemed to like it. I certainly did, but I didn’t give myself quite enough of the meat mixture. Sigh.

I did the dishes and listened to my podcasts. As the last one finished, so did I. I said goodnight to K and went upstairs. I relaxed for a few minutes and then F and I went out to the grocery store. At first, I was thinking about going to a regular grocery store as we were early for a change, but then we decided to go to MaxValu. I got some easy things for dinner tomorrow night. It’s so hot, I really don’t want to spend time over a hot stove.

We came back to the house and I put the stuff away. I came upstairs before F and turned on the AC. It just is so hot these days. Argh.

Tonight I watched the FBI International show and it was okay. Not a great episode, but we’ll see how it goes next week.

That’s about it for me. I’m not sure what I’ll get up to when I get up. Come back and find out! Until tomorrow….
