Monday - Hot and muggy
My first memory of this morning was F moaning and groaning and checking his temperature. It was high. A little too high. He phoned into work to say he wasn’t coming in as he had a temperature. I think it was a side effect of the vaccine since his temperature went down later in the day. So yesterday I wrote that I was looking forward to having a day without him, I’m still waiting! He was fine today really.
I got up at my usual time and watched the news and then had a bit of a nap. F was up and down, sometimes snoozing, sometimes not. I finally roused myself out of bed so I got dressed and grabbed breakfast.
F fed his mother I think, although she had food that we’d bought for her in the fridge that she had eaten.
We had a quiet afternoon. I watched something off the DVR and later the US news. Around 6 pm I went downstairs and got started on dinner. I wasn’t sure that it was quite fair that I had to cook while F got to sleep most of the day, but I didn’t say too much.
I think I did rather well for dinner tonight. I baked chicken with a yuzu-kosho flavouring, we had a white bean salad and an avocado salad and a lettuce salad. K and F had rice and that was it. I didn’t do a lot of cooking, but I did a lot of preparing today. Whew.
I did the dishes afterwards which didn’t take too long. When I finished I went upstairs and watched some YouTube. F was up here for a lot of it too.
We both took showers and then F went to sleep. While I was downstairs, I started some yogurt draining so that I can use it as sour cream tomorrow. And that was my day. It wasn’t what I was expecting at all!
F should be going back to work tomorrow as long as his temperature is okay. I think he really enjoyed the day off to relax. I’m glad for him.
