Saturday - Warmish and sunny
I woke up at my “usual” time this morning, got up and went downstairs. Then I came back to the bedroom and went back to bed. I slept for a couple more hours. Yay me.
F got up and went off to his massage. It was lovely to get up to a quiet house and not feel guilty. I got dressed and sat at my computer for a while. I emailed my BFF in Canada and just relaxed with a cup of tea for a few minutes.
F came back after his massage and we talked about lunch. He suggested a place, someplace we go quite often and I was fine with it. We got in the car and went off. We were able to get a parking space nearby and then walked to the restaurant. We had to wait outside for a few minutes, were seated, and then had to move to a bigger, better table after a couple more minutes. F had a dish I often have, bacon-don and I had katsu-curry. That is basically a fried pork cutlet with curry and rice. Our lunches took a long time to come and if I’m honest, weren’t that great. My cutlet was good, but the curry wasn’t anything special. My curry is better!
During lunch, I checked on F’s condition. He said he was okay, so I suggested going out to the Kamo Aquarium since we hadn’t been able to go for ages. We drove out there after our lunch. I snoozed a lot on the way.
We were able to park fairly close and went in. On the way in I noticed a bus full of older tourists and was a bit worried. We went into the aquarium and the tour guide pushed past us. Sadly, the people she was guiding were just as rude, probably worse.
We went into the aquarium, but the tourists were hogging areas and not moving. They weren’t distancing themselves and their masks weren’t always in place. Harrumph! They would stand in front of the tanks and not move, so it was very annoying. At one point in our visit, F and I just went and sat down so that the group could just go through and we wouldn’t be bothered by them!
When we got to the jellyfish it was much better. The annoying people must have gone through! I took a few pictures which I posted to Instagram if anyone wants to have a look. Some of the jellyfish were new to me, and others were old favourites. Probably different actual jellies though!
After we finished, we had an ice cream each. I had a coupon to give us a discount on an ice cream, so we each had one. Following our little treat, we drove back to Tsuruoka and went to the grocery store. We needed to get something for K to eat. We also picked up a few other things.
Back at the house, I unpacked the groceries, then headed upstairs. I spent a bit of time on my computer. F gave the bento to his mother and then came upstairs too. We relaxed for a bit, but after 7:30 we went out for dinner. We went to Coco Ichibanya, the curry place. When we parked, F looked at me and said, “You had curry for lunch. Is it okay to go here?” It was!
We both had curry obviously and it was nice. I had mine with a chicken cutlet. We both enjoyed our meals. When we finished, we just came back to the house.
I watched some programmes off the Fire Stick and then turned over to WOWOW and watched my usual Saturday night show. I did some craftwork on my ornament and at midnight turned off the TV.
Today was okay. It was lovely to actually sleep in. I might just do that tomorrow too. We don’t have any plans as far as I know!
