Friday - Sunny in the morning, warmer

I woke up when my alarm went off this morning. F was still here, he was looking at his phone or his computer, I’m not sure. I went downstairs and then watched the news from the bed. F went off to the hospital and I stayed in bed. I dozed a bit and then got up. I went downstairs to get my breakfast but had a little look outside first. The steps of the house were covered with snow. Oh no! The snow had fallen off the roof. I grabbed my snow scoop and went outside and moved the snow.

I got my breakfast and took it upstairs and…F came back!  The surgeon was pleased that he’d lost a little weight and also said that he didn’t need to wear the brace anymore. Yay.  He goes back next month.

We decided to go for lunch and did. We went over to F’s favourite fish restaurant. They didn’t have specials today, so I had tuna cheek again and F had a tuna donburi. His was rather expensive, but it had 3 different types of tuna. He said that it was good.

After lunch, we went to F’s favourite car dealership and talked to the guy about buying a new car. F wants to get a hybrid and he’s been talking about nothing else for the last few months. They did some talking and we got our nice drinks as well.

After we finished at the car place, F and I went to Komeda Coffee and had a drink. We were there for a while before we left. We came back to the house and F did something fabulous for me. He finally called WOWOW and set up the new DVR for us. Hurray! He had to call to get instructions because they’ve changed the setup since our last DVR. Anyway, it works now. Woot.

We went out for a few minutes to grab a bento for K and then came back to the house and gave it to her.

F and I went out for our dinner. We’d thought to try a couple of “nice” places but the first one we drove by was closed and dark. The second one was open. We were a little worried in case we needed a reservation, but they let us in any way. We had a great meal at NiGoo. (It’s a play on words since meat is Niku in Japanese).  F kept trying to get me to order steak but to be honest, I didn’t really want it. It was a bit expensive to have steak. I had chicken and F had pork. We also had a lovely salad that we shared and some garlic rice. F also had plain rice which came with soup, so he ordered me soup too. I didn’t think he needed to do that, but it turned out to be amazing onion soup, so I’m glad that he did! We both had oolong tea to drink. Dinner was great. It wasn’t cheap, but it was delicious.

We came back to the house and just relaxed for a while. I tried to watch some YouTube on my computer but kept falling asleep! Finally, the heater kept shutting itself off and I figured out that it was empty.  F volunteered to go downstairs and fill it. Woot.

I took a shower next then came back upstairs and watched an episode of Carnival Row. It was the second last episode in the first season. It had all sorts of things going on and it was good. I can’t wait for the next part!

And that’s about it. Both F and I are still up and we don’t have any plans for tomorrow. I hope we do something useful though!

Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….

Yay for the DVR! I bet F feels good about not having to wear a brace too. Sounds like you had a nice day.

It was a good day!

Yes to the brace, but sometimes when his knee is bad he thinks he'll still wear it.

And yes, I used the DVR tonight....I have to get used to a whole set of new buttons though, but it is good to have it working properly.
