Sunday - Sunny and Warm, cool at night
F had booked himself a massage for this morning, so if I wanted to leave the house and go out with him, I would have to go with him at 11 am. Would I make it? I went to bed a bit late last night as I was watching YouTube and doing my usual blogging.
I did! I set my alarm for 10 and got up a bit later. I got dressed and a bit later, F came upstairs and asked if I was ready to go. I was!
F dropped me off at S-Mall and I spent the next hour doing a bit of shopping and window shopping. I picked up a couple of balls of yarn for my blanket and some for the daughter of a friend.
After that, I decided to go downstairs and check things out. I looked for the hotel’s lunch information, I toured the grocery store and then went to Doutor and had a drink. I ordered a hot Sakura drink and also some cheese toast. I had a seat and ate and drink. My drink was beautiful but oh so sweet. I didn’t really like it that much. F called me and then came to meet me in the coffee shop. I bought him a drink and got myself another one too. When we finished, I suggested going to the hotel for their lunch.

We walked over to the hotel and when we got there, they had sold out of their special. Sigh. Then, F suggested going for yakiniku. I was fine with that. He said to go to the place near the mall. I was a little confused since there wasn’t a place really near the mall. He led the way outside and then stopped when he was surprised that the place he was thinking of wasn’t where he thought. He meant a place by the station. We couldn’t walk there. Well, we could, but not with his knee and my feet!
We drove by the place F suggested and unfortunately it was closed. He suggested sushi instead, so that’s where we went. It wasn’t a great success. We got some sushi and it was fine, but I wasn’t really in the mood. I asked F if he wanted to do the shopping now or go back to the house and take a nap. Nap won!
We drove back to the house and both of us ended up sleeping in bed. I was so tired for some reason, I slept for a couple of hours.
I finally got up after 5 pm. We had to do the shopping.
It was a bit later that we left the house. We got some groceries, visited Yamaya and the grocery store, and then picked up some kerosene at the gas station.
We came back to the house and I put the groceries away. F put the kerosene away. I warmed up the living room and heated up the bento I had bought for K. We gave the food to K. Then, F and I went out again. I hadn’t been able to get things for their breakfast at the grocery store, so we tried another place. I had a bit more success there. Then, it was dinner time.
It was 9 pm by this time, so quite late. There isn’t much open late at night in Tsuruoka anymore, so I said to F that we had a choice of family restaurants or gyudon places and I don’t really like gyudon! We went to Gusto near MaxValu.
We went in and had an okay meal. We had some coupons for cheap drink bar and F got a bit of a discount on his meal. I had a hamburger patty with two pieces of chicken, and F had some fried chicken with a Japanese-style set including rice and miso soup. We shared an order of spinach, bacon and cheese that was nice.
After we finished our meal we came back to the house and had a quiet evening. I watched the first episode of The Reluctant Traveller on AppleTV and thought it was quite funny. It does depend on how funny you find Eugene Levy. I like him in small doses. I did a couple of rows on my blanket.
F went to bed and I’m still up and blogging, but planning to get to bed soonish.
I’m not sure what I’m going to get up to tomorrow. Either tomorrow or Tuesday I plan to make a stew, but I might also talk myself out of doing that. Who knows?
Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
