Saturday - Cloudy and a bit cool
I woke up this morning a bit later than usual. I made a trip downstairs and then I went back to sleep. I slept through the alarms I set and then I got up and got dressed. F went downstairs and made his mother some lunch and when he came back upstairs it was nearly 2 pm. All the usual, yummy restaurants would be finished with their lunch orders. Boo! After him bullying me to pick a place to go, I suggested going out to the Bus Depot and having the pair set at the Tonkatsu shop.
We went to the Bus Depot and when we got there, we discovered that the Pair Set was on sale. Woot! We had that, so lunch was actually quite cheap. I thought it was quite delicious.
We came back to the house via a drugstore. I wanted to pick up some garbage bags and then ended up getting more kitchen stuff too!
We returned to the house and F went and hid and let me start cleaning the car. He was going to take it in for servicing. I emptied out the car garbages, took a whole bunch of boxes of tissues out of the car and cleaned up a lot of stuff. When F finally showed up, he put some of his things in a box (his usual MO) and took the boxes of tissues that I had left in the car out. I put one of them back!
We left for the car dealership and went in. They took the car and did whatever to it. We had our drink and made use of the wifi there.
After the car was finished, we went back to the house via a grocery store so we could pick up a bento for K. I went into the store, and F stayed in the car. We came back to the house and F gave his mother the bento and then we were on the road again to go to the mall.
At the mall, I quickly bought a new hand towel as I’d forgotten to bring one and most places haven’t switched their air dryers on again. After that, we bought our movie tickets and then had dinner. We did our usual bibinba, although F had a different one for a change. I don’t think he liked it. Mine was great.
We had an ice cream each afterwards as we had extra time. I had a coupon for a free ice cream…sadly, I missed out on my free birthday cone last month, but this was nice anyway.
We were going to the cinema, but they hadn’t called our movie yet. F went to the washroom and stayed there for ages. I was rather annoyed. He came out just in time. We bought some popcorn and drinks and went to see Everything Everywhere All at Once. It was great, but for some reason, I had no idea that the majority of the film was in Chinese. Oh, dear. The subtitles were in Japanese of course, and I understand why they were, but I was really hoping they’d have English ones too. They didn’t. I probably only understood 40-50 percent of the movie, but I still enjoyed it. I’ll have to try to either get a copy of the film on DVD or see if I can find a streaming service with English subtitles. It was fun though.
We came back to the house when the movie finished and came upstairs. We’ve basically had a quiet evening.
That’s about it for me. Tomorrow morning, F has booked himself in for a massage and if, big if, I can get up in time, I might take myself over to the mall with him, the little Tsuruoka mall, and do some window shopping. It depends if I can get up and get dressed in time though.
