 Thursday - Sunny?

I woke up for the first time this morning when F made so much noise in our room. He’d misplaced his car keys and couldn’t find them. I had to go downstairs and while I was down there, I had a little look for the keys but didn’t see them. He found them and came downstairs and went to work. I locked the door behind him to save him a second or two of time.

I came back upstairs and turned on the TV to watch the news and….well, there was news on. The Beloved Leader of one of Japan’s neighbours had sent a missile over Japan. At first, they were warning people in Hokkaido to take cover in concrete buildings and stay away from windows, but after 20 or so minutes they said that the danger was over. Whew. Of course, there wasn’t any BBC news on this morning. Too bad. When things were calmer, I went back to bed and slept for a while. My alarm did go off, but I overslept. I got up and went downstairs to grab breakfast and do a load of laundry. 

I did three loads of laundry today and now I have clothes and towels all over my room! At least they are clean now and they weren’t before.

F called a bit after 5 and then I went downstairs to start dinner. Tonight I was doing a stir-fry and halfway through the day I decided that I could try and make loaded nachos too. I had leftover mincemeat mix from the Gapao rice yesterday, so thought I’d use that on some tortilla chips. I had the guacamole, some shredded cheese, salsa and some sour cream, so why not?

The stir-fry was quite nice and the loaded nachos were very popular! All of them disappeared!  I’ll have to try and make them again.

I did the dishes and then went upstairs. We were supposed to go out and buy a few groceries but I couldn’t face it. During the day I hurt my back and I  barely got through the dishes, so I didn’t want to go to the grocery store and carry heavy groceries around. I know I could use a cart, but I just didn’t want to.

I watched a bit of YouTube before I tuned into New Amsterdam. That was good. I really like that show.

And that’s about it for me. Tomorrow, F is off work and is off to see the surgeon at the hospital. I hope he really does consider having surgery for his knees. I’m not sure what else we’ll get up to after that. A lot depends on how F and I are feeling!
