Monday - Snowy and a bit cool
We both went to bed last night quite late. I went to bed when the kerosene in the heater ran out, so just before 4 am. F woke up around then too. I went to sleep fairly quickly and then woke up a couple of hours later when F went downstairs. That surprised me.
I slept on and didn’t really wake up until 11ish. F was up and then back in bed for a while too. I think we were both avoiding getting up because we didn’t want to deal with the snow. Finally, we were both up. F suggested going out to Mikawa for lunch and I was fine with that. I got dressed to go out to shovel snow and joined F outside. He said he’d done enough, but I didn’t believe him and did a bit more.
I went back inside to change into my “going out” clothes and then I got in the car and we got on our way. On the way, F said he had a headache. Sigh. We were a few minutes late to the restaurant…honestly, who makes a reservation for 12:20 anyway? 12:30 would make so much more sense! F wasn’t too happy with me. However, when we got to the restaurant I thought things were okay. We ordered and then F basically spent the next hour or so with his head hanging down in his hands. His headache was really bad and he didn’t want to talk to me or enjoy his lunch. I felt really bad for him and I wish honestly that we hadn’t gone there for lunch. It was a little expensive, the food was amazing and it was lovely to go there again but knowing how little F enjoyed it all really made me wish we’d stayed in Tsuruoka and just gone to Gusto or something.
On the way back to Tsuruoka we stopped at a grocery store to pick up a bento for K. F went into the store to buy it, and I stayed in the car.
Back at the house, F gave his mother the bento and then we came upstairs and F had a nap, I watched some YouTube on my computer.
Around 5 pm or so I suggested going out to get groceries. F wanted to go to a drugstore too. We hit up the drugstore first and then I went to Mina and did the grocery shopping for the next couple of days. We haven’t done that much lately. I told F to stay in the car. I have found the last few times going into the store with F that I have had a terrible time.
I bought a few things and then went back to the car. We went back to the house and F gave his mother her dinner. I took stuff upstairs and then we went off again.
We went out for dinner next. I just suggested a family restaurant, I didn’t care which. On the way to Cocos, F suggested going to a soba restaurant, but I said no. I didn’t really want too much more Japanese food tonight.
We went to Cocos and got a seat. We ordered. F had rice porridge with some add-ins and I had carbonara. We shared an order of fries too.
We came back to the house after our meal and F got to take his headache medicine. Even in the evening, he still had a headache.
I asked F if he’d like to watch something on TV with me, but he wouldn’t. So, I watched rather a lot. I watched another episode of Deadloch which was excellent, then another episode of Three Pines with Alfred Molina. That was another great story. I’ll have to watch it again soon so that I can finish this storyline. I followed both of those up with another episode of Schmigadoon. Honestly, I’m not enjoying this season very much. It’s so much darker than the first series.
After I finished these programmes I turned off the TV and got into blogging. I’ve written a few texts along the way today too.
That’s about it for me for today. Tomorrow I hope to do a bit of laundry. K will be out with her daughter I think and if F is feeling okay, he’ll go to work. He said if he feels this bad tomorrow, he’ll call in sick. I hope he’s better for his own sake.
