Saturday - Cloudy, cool with a bit of rain
I slept in this morning, but I did wake up first at 9 am and then went back to sleep for a couple more hours.
I got up and got dressed. I sat at my computer for an hour or so and had a cup of decaf. F finally came upstairs and asked about going for lunch. We talked about a few ideas and he suggested the place near the main post office. We went there after F made a quick trip into the post office to pick something up. F had a stir-fry at the restaurant, and I had pork piccata with a garlic maple sauce. Mine was nice, F said his was too.
We went to S-Mall next and I went to the hundred yen shop. I picked up a few interesting things and F got something too. Then, I bought him a coffee in Doutor. I had some rooibos tea. All of a sudden, F started to feel unwell, so he wanted to leave. We left and came back to the house.
He went to bed for a while and I asked him if he was going to be able to go to the movie. No, he wasn’t. I was really disappointed as I’ve been waiting to see the film with him. I’ll go and see it next week I think.
He disappeared downstairs to make dinner for his mother I assumed as he didn’t say anything to me. I was upstairs and waiting for him to come and talk about dinner. Finally, I went downstairs and asked him if we could go for dinner. He did his usual asking me where I wanted to go so I suggested a couple of places…either curry again or keiten sushi. He countered with a couple of other places that would have been closed by the time we got there. Then, he suggested an unagi restaurant. He’d mentioned it yesterday and even though my usual response would have been no, I decided to say yes. We got ready to go out.
F drove to the restaurant and went in to ask if there was parking and seats. He parked in a nearby parking lot and then we walked over. F wanted us to have quite an expensive dish, so we both had it. We also had some hot tofu as well as the little dish they gave us at the beginning. The food was great. I was so hungry. Our grilled eel was delicious and the tofu was excellent as well. We also had some cod soup which was okay. It turned out that F knew the owner of the restaurant from high school so at the end they had a little chat.
When we left, we were both so stuffed. I was full but in a good way.
We came back to the house and I took a shower. After that, I watched an episode of FBI and then turned off the TV.
A little while ago, F asked if I still wanted to go to Costco tomorrow. I told him that I didn’t because if he gets sick in Yamagata city, we’re stuck. There’s nowhere for him to rest except the car and I can’t drive. He swears he won’t get sick, but I think he’s dreaming.
However, we probably are going to try and go tomorrow. It’s a long way to drive and we have to leave K alone for the day. I’m a little worried about that too. We’ll have to get her some food in for her as we don’t want her to cook when we’re away.
Anyway, I will try and update tomorrow night, so come back for that. Until tomorrow….
