Thursday - Cloudy, Sunny, but Colder
I got up rather early this morning, before my alarm! Actually, I discovered that I hadn’t set any alarms last night, so it was a good thing that I woke up early. I went back to bed in a few minutes and set more than a few alarms.
I got up later, grabbed my breakfast, ate, and then got dressed to go out. I relaxed for a bit and then realized I had to get my butt in gear! I went downstairs, used the washroom and left. I walked to the bus stop and waited a few minutes for the bus. I got on the bus and went on my way. I was surprised today that someone got on the bus at the next stop to mine. I’ve never seen anyone get on or off at that stop before! I got off the bus at Sanno-machi and walked over to Machi-ne Kinema, the local cinema. I bought my ticket for the movie and a little later went to my seat.
I went to see Ghost World and it was good. True story, when it came out in 2001, it was just before I got married and I was up in Hokkaido. I was in Sapporo for the day and wanted to go and see it, but I missed the afternoon show and I was afraid that if I went to the later show I might miss the last train back to Otaru, and then I’d be stuck in the big city, so I didn’t go. In the 20-odd years since that time, I’ve never been able to see the movie. Well, today I did! It was a bit odd, but the acting was great and the story was interesting and a bit scary too.
After the movie, I left the cinema and walked to the nearest bus stop. The next bus wouldn’t be around for the next 20 minutes so I walked to the next stop. When I got there, I only had 5 minutes to wait so I stopped there and waited for the bus. I rode it to S-Mall.
In S-Mall, I did a little shopping for K’s breakfast, a treat for me, and then I went upstairs to the hundred yen shop. While I was there, I noticed that they had a cup warmer, something I’d been looking for. I looked at it and decided I’d get one. It did suggest using a cup of heat-resistant glass, so I bought one there too. I got some other things and then went downstairs. I hadn’t eaten lunch, so I was a tad hungry. I thought about going to Pizza Hut, but it might be a bit hard for me to get something without tomato sauce. I decided that I’d go to Doutor and have a sandwich and tea.
At Doutor, they were sold out of every sandwich that I wanted to have. I had to get a camembert gratin and shrimp sandwich. I didn’t like it that much. It was fine, but it came back later on. Boo!
F finished work and met me in Doutor. I offered him a drink, but he turned me down. We left a few minutes later. He ordered a bento for K at Hotto Motto, the bento shop and then we drove over there to get it. On the way, F stopped for gas for the car.
We went back to the house and I put away the things I bought and I put my handbag back together. F called the izakaya that he likes and then called a taxi for us. He changed his clothes and then we waited for the taxi. I had turned on the outside lights, but the taxi went past the house! We had to go and find the cab driver as he was trying to find his passengers at another house!
We went to the izakaya and a little while later had some mostly great food. F had a beer, and I had an umeshu soda. We had some yakitori, some sashimi and vegetables, and tofu and a salad. The sashimi wasn’t great, but everything else was.
After a while, we came back to the house. K was still up and I think F talked to her for a bit. I went upstairs and then brought the kerosene tank downstairs to fill. F was lovely and offered to carry it upstairs for me. Yay!
We had a quiet evening in. I watched an episode of The Big Bang Theory and then tonight’s The Rookie. I enjoyed both things.
After midnight, I watched some YouTube and did my computer stuff. I’ve been using my new cup and cup warmer and the cup is great. I think the cup warmer is okay. It seems to be keeping things warm, so that is good. Hurray for that.
Anyway, that’s about it for me. I’m not sure what I’ll get up to tomorrow, but you can come back later and find out! Until tomorrow….
