Thursday - Rainy and cool
Today was an odd day. Last night, I was nearly done with my blogging and late-night stuff when F requested that I come to bed. I’m not sure why. Then he started saying he didn’t feel well and a few other things. I finished up as quickly as I could…ironically, if he hadn’t bothered me I would have been finished sooner!
This morning he did wake me up when he was getting ready to go, but I fell back asleep quickly. I woke up when my alarm went off, made a trip downstairs and tried to do my usual get changed and go back to bed. I did go back to bed, but I couldn’t sleep. After a while, I decided to just get up and get on with my day.
I went downstairs and made my breakfast. I made porridge again and it was lovely and warming. I’m glad as it was a cold day today. For the news time, I decided to go back to bed to watch the news. I hoped that I’d take a quick nap after the English language news finished. It finished, but I couldn’t fall asleep, so that was a bust!
I got up again and in a few minutes, I went to get my lunch. I came back upstairs with it, ate and watched Fringe. I saw two episodes today, back to back. I’ve been really enjoying seeing it like this.
F called me after 5 as usual and said he was on his way back, so I got changed and went downstairs to get started on dinner. Tonight I made a new dish, I made warm spicy tofu. I can’t believe that I haven’t done this before because it was quite easy. All I had to do was warm up the tofu by bringing it to a simmer in a pan with water and afterwards dump on a sauce that I made. It turned out well.
When F came back, he realized that he hadn’t made rice for dinner. I had asked him to make it last night, but he’d forgotten. He went ahead and made it right away.
He went upstairs and I got on with dinner. For dinner tonight we had the aforementioned tofu, teriyaki chicken, salad and broccoli. It was quite nice and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The tofu was popular and we all put the sauce on our rice too!
After dinner, I did the dishes. It wasn’t too bad as I’d only used one pan and it wasn’t very dirty at all. I got done and reminded F that we needed to go out to get some food.
We went to Mina again and this time I sort of strongly suggested that F stay in the car. He actually did, so I was happy. I got a few things in the store and paid. While I was doing that, I turned in three sheets with stickers from bread products that I’ve been collecting for the last few weeks. I got three small bowls. They are pretty nice and as long as I can find a good place for them in the kitchen I’ll be happy to have them.
We came back to the house and I got F to fill up the kerosene tank from our heater and take it upstairs for me. I unpacked the groceries and then went upstairs. Since it was still a little early, I decided to watch another Fringe episode. It led to the death of one of the characters so that was a bit sad, but the episode itself was good. I did a bit of knitting during the episode too.
I watched the new Rookie spin-off at 11 and I’m afraid I wasn’t too impressed. I quite like The Rookie, but this one just irritated me. I might watch another episode or two to see how it goes and decide if I’ll keep watching or not.
And that’s about it for my day. F is sleeping tonight, which I’m glad about. Last night he was terribly fidgety and I’m glad that he seems to be sleeping better.
Golden Week starts tomorrow night. We don’t have many plans as F has to work in the middle and we can’t leave K alone for long. I’m hoping there’ll be a movie or two to see, but apart from that, who knows?
