Saturday - Cloudy in the morning, then sunny and hot in the afternoon.

I woke up quite early this morning, went downstairs and then came back upstairs. I went back to bed after a few minutes and slept for another couple of hours. I woke up just before 11. I got up, got dressed and went downstairs to see F. We went outside and tried to see the Blue Impulse Squad that were doing a flyover Tsuruoka today. We almost saw them! We saw some of their chemtrails, but it was so cloudy, and the clouds were quite low today so we couldn’t see the planes. I did see one, but not the formation group.

Around 11:30 I suggested going to a place we talked about going last weekend, a restaurant in Fujishima. They are usually really busy at lunchtime, so F called to make a reservation. He said we’d arrive at 12, so we had to get moving. F got dressed properly and we left the house and drove out of town. People were on the roads and on bridges trying to get a good look at the flyovers, so they were blocking the roads in places. Still we made it, but were a few minutes late. Surprisingly, we were even able to get a parking space. Woot. 

We went into the restaurant and were seated. We checked out the menu, F had the restaurant’s special and I had the pork sauté. They turned out to be quite similar, except mine was more western. I had salad and a creamy mushroom soup, F had ginger pork, with miso soup and Japanese-style side dishes. It was very nice.

After our meal, we had some time before K was due back at the house, so F suggested going to the aquarium and renewing our membership. I thought it was a reasonable idea so off we went. Well, after a lovely drive along the ocean we got to the aquarium. The parking lot was packed. We couldn’t get anywhere near the aquarium, so we decided not to go after all. Instead, we went to a nearby place and had some gelato. F got LaFrance and I got Sakurambo and we were both pleased. 

We came back to Tsuruoka and still had a bit of time before we had to be back at the house. I suggested going shopping for socks!  We went to Shimamura and picked up a few pairs of socks each and F got a few undies too. Then, back to the house.

F got rather sick when we came back and I came upstairs and spent time by myself for a while. K came back from her daycare and a bit later F made her some dinner.

He didn’t seem at all interested in our dinner so I finally tackled him and said that we had to go out. I hadn’t eaten in 7 or so hours and I was getting hungry. I suggested sushi as I thought it might be okay for him to eat. We decided to go out. On the way to the restaurant, F tried to get me to go somewhere else, but in all honesty, I didn’t want to go. I felt more like sushi than going for udon or soba. 

We ate a few dishes of sushi and a bit of tempura and some fries at Kappa Sushi and then came back to the house. F needed to get something for his mother’s breakfast, so he stopped into the grocery store on the way back. 

We came back to the house and F put the food away, I came upstairs. I relaxed with some YouTube and then later FBI. It was a pretty good episode featuring the main female character and her sister. 

F went to bed and seems to be sleeping soundly. I’m up late as usual.

I’m not sure what we’re going to do tomorrow. F and I need to get groceries and I know that he wants to get his hair cut.
