 Friday - Cooler and muggy

I woke up really early this morning, darn it. I went downstairs around 6:30am. F had left his window open and I was getting a draft so it might have something to do with that, or noise from outside.

I came back to bed and went back to sleep. I did wake up at my alarm, but snoozed for an hour or so. I got up and started to get ready for going out. Around 11:30 I went downstairs and made my brunch. I had a bagel and some salad, it was quite nice. I did my dishes before I left. I also said goodbye to K. I’m not sure if she knew where I said I was going, but I tried!

I went to the bus stop and waited. The bus was a few minutes late and I was early. The bus was crowded! I had to go and sit in the back row. Mind you, there were a couple of people sitting in the bus next to the row so they weren’t letting people sit next to them. I rode the bus for a while and got off at Sanno-machi. From there, I walked over to Machinaka Kinema. I went to see Thelma & Louise. I saw it in 1991 when it originally was in cinema but I don’t think I’ve seen the whole thing again since then. 

I enjoyed the movie, but I didn’t love it. It was good to see Geena Davis again and Brad Pitt as a very young drifter. He was very good-looking in those days!

After the movie I went to the Post Office and mailed off my passport to be renewed. I managed to get it done and that was good.  I went to the nearest bus stop and waited for the bus. 

I had to wait about 10 minutes but it was fine. It didn’t rain, which I’m happy about. I got on the bus to S-Mall, but it had to make a detour. Tomorrow is the big Tenjin Matsuri parade in Tsuruoka and there were some food trucks down main street. It would have been fun to go and have a look, but F never wants to eat from them. 

I got off at the mall and went in. I went upstairs and bought a few things at Daiso. I needed some garbage bags for the house and a few things for myself. I bought the stuff and headed downstairs. 

I got a couple of things in the grocery store and then I went to Doutor and had a glass of iced rooibos tea. F had called me earlier so he joined me a little while later. I got him a smaller glass of rooibos tea and he also topped up my Doutor app which was good. 

We decided that we would get K a bento for her dinner and we’d have yakitori for dinner. It sounded good to me. I had planned to cook pasta, but F doesn’t really like it apparently. We visited the grocery store in the mall and got K a bento and I picked up some milk for the house. We left the mall. F ordered our yakitori from the car and we had a while before it was ready. 

We went to the house and F heated up the bento for K. F went off for the yakitori so I took my stuff upstairs.

When he came back, we had a nice meal upstairs. I brought up some root beers, some salad, paper plates and chopsticks.  We had a nice meal. The yakitori was nice and it was nice to not have much clean up afterwards.

We spent a quiet evening on our respective computers. I took a shower after 10:30 but I didn’t do any cleaning in there tonight. I was quite tired.

F is sleeping already and I should try and get to bed fairly soon. I’m not sure what we’re going to get up to tomorrow, but I’m looking forward to finding out. Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
