Tuesday - Cooler but very muggy
F woke me up this morning. On purpose. He’d misplaced his phone and needed me to call it so that his phone would ring and he could then find it. I didn’t mind. If I’m going to wake up early, I’d rather it be for a reason. After several calls, F did find the phone and then he left for work. I went back to sleep again. Today though, my alarm went off early.
I got up and got dressed, I checked my computer quickly and then went downstairs. While I was getting ready to go, F called and I had to explain to him that I was getting ready to go as my bus would be coming soon. I reminded him that I wanted him to pick me up after work, and then I rang off!
I went to the bus stop as fast as I could, only to discover that the bus wouldn’t be there for more than 5 minutes. Oops.
However, when the bus arrived, it was full. There were literally no more seats on the bus. There were a lot of foreigners on the bus though. One of them, the leader of the group spoke to the driver and asked what I should do. Since I didn’t want to wait for the next bus, the woman volunteered to sit on the floor near the door and gave me her seat. Oh goodness. We set off. One person got off, but someone else got on later. At one stop there was a woman and her son and the driver basically told her to take the next bus as they were full. It turns out that the group was going to an elementary school. They were a group of kids from Colorado and they did get off at the elementary school. Then I was the only person on the bus for a while anyway.
I got off at S-Mall. I had about 30 minutes before my next bus so I checked out Daiso and got a few things. I also looked at another store that is closing soon, but I didn’t buy anything there. I caught the bus handily and it was not full. The bus ride was great though and I got to the mall around 11:20am. I paid, got off the bus and went into the mall.
In the mall, I made a quick deposit at the Post Office and then went over to the movie theatre. I bought my ticket to go and see If. I waited a minute or two and then bought popcorn and a drink. I went into the movie. It was good, without being great. I enjoyed myself, but I didn’t think it was the best film ever.
When I finished the movie I went to the food court and bought myself a bibinba. I used my movie ticket to get a free drink. I enjoyed my meal, it was quite nice.
When I finished I went down the mall to Aeon and did some reconnoitring. I looked at the craft department, the men’s socks section and then I went over to the large-sized ladies' section. I had a look around the area and found a few things that I wanted to try on. I went into the changing room and surprise! Everything fitted me! Woot. The first thing I tried on was okay, but not great. The second was the wrong shade of yellow for me, and the next two things I really liked. Well, sort of! I loved the shirt, it was a knit and was a bit oversized. I also got a pair of shorts to wear in summer. They are tight, but I’m only planning to wear them around the house, so they’ll be fine. I went back to the men’s socks and picked up a pair of socks then went to the cash register and bought them all.
I went downstairs to have a drink. I wrote a text back to a friend and then as I was finishing my drink, I spilled the ice from the drink all over the floor. Oh dear. There used to always be a person cleaning in the food court, but there wasn’t anyone today. I tried to move some of the ice to the side so people wouldn’t slip on it and then I made a run for it!
It was nearly time for F to finish work, so I texted him about where I was. He phoned a few minutes later and we arranged to meet up. He came in and we went to Mr. Donut for a snack and a drink. I had a churro and a Royal Milk Tea, F had a Cafe au Lait and his favourite Angel Cream doughnut.
We talked about dinner. I had said that I would cook dinner if he wanted, but honestly, I was quite tired. I’d walked all over the mall today. We decided to get bentos and went over to the grocery store in the mall to get them. We picked 3 bentos and some stuff for breakfast tomorrow.
We left the mall and drove back to Tsuruoka. We came back to the house and I started heating up the bentos. I also washed and then made some cucumber sticks. F and I sat at the table with K. K decided she didn’t want dinner, but would eat some cucumber sticks. Of course, she ate a lot of them, but that was okay.
I washed up the dishes when we were all done, and then we went upstairs. I relaxed for a while and at 11pm I watched FBI: Most Wanted. It was an odd episode, about ranchers fighting against the government. It was okay. F went to bed and seems to be asleep now.
It was a really nice day. It was good that F and I didn’t fight and it was good that I got out of here for a little. I’ve been meaning to do a mall run for a while, but I haven’t had a reason recently.
